People would have received it so differently if they had known of his illness. Clearly its a record that faces and faces down the question of mortality, but the decision to keep all of this private allowed the art to come out, to be evaluated and to speak for itself. Art. I mean, it is hard to overstate his contribution to music, to fashion, to culture. What did david bowie do for this world . Well, quite simply he was one of rocks first selfconscious artists. He looked at everything he did as art, the way he dressed, the way he lived his life, his sexuality. He pushed boundaries all the time, and uniquely he was an inspiration to people in the 70s, in the 80s, in the 90s constantly changes. Changes is one of his best known songs.
