Which means we wont plant them in the same place every year. You need three different places to plant potatoes because you need to rotate them. This year it will be near where our wire latches are where we will be planting cantaloupe a little later. I have this already staked out and i marked the trench. Basically you have to dig a ten. Dig a trench. That is what i am going to do now. It needs to be 8 inches to a foot deep. Then you put compost in at the bottom, you plant your potatoes and cover them then you just follow the directions on the back of this package and you will be in good shape. We learned a couple things. First of all this soil last year still had a lot of clay in it. So, it does make it difficult with potatoes. So, what we will do is dig the trench. We will take the dirt from the trench and build up the side so i dont have to make it quite as deep and we will fill it with mushroom compost.
