We spoke to the superintendent can she says parents must educate theirselves to choose the first school for their child. You need to investigate and choose what is right for each individual child. Students like different things, different settings and you have different options and dont just assume that one is bad or you need to go and visit the school, you need to find out about the curriculum and see how your child responon. A senator says right now the 12 gas tax increase over the next few years. And that will be the primary source of the biggest revenue. There are other modest increases, raising the drivers license fee, redoing the way we commercial commercial trtrks pay their property taxes so we could benefit from all the out of state trucks come in. After seeing low literacy rates a teacher decided to put books in the hands of young boys at the barbershop. She has been a teacher for a couple years. She has seen the gap first hand. And that is what inspired her to start books with barbers. She is trying to take advantage spending sitting down looking at nothing. She got word from the mayor that they will also donate some books. We are here for the community. Our role is to give back to as many children and families as possible. We want to encourage students to read. We want to encourage the African American boys to grow in the area of reading and literacy and we are here. We have books. We have shelves. We have bodies that are able to bring them in and we are ready to go right now. She is eager to partner with barbershops that understand and believe in the vision of raising literacy among African American boys.
