The Water Department says a pipe broke and water continued to theyre calling this a major break. They say they wont be able to tell what caused it until they dig up the pipe. Were getting kind of used to it. This is like the third flooding in three months. Just worry about your cars and the safety of other people. Larry once the pipe was shut off, the standing water drained through the storm water system. As that pipe broke, we were covering a meeting with the Storm Water Services manager. The Public Works Department is in the middle of assessing which areas need improvements. Tonight, they were looking for input from people. But its also a lesson for the Water Resources department here in asheville. Biggest manmade disasters in recent years. Something flint, michigans governor is under fire for. Switching to a new water source has left children with high levels of lead in their blood. Youre saying theres 100 children as of now and there could be many more. And were assumeing that.
