Sounding off against house bill mccrorys continued support for the controversial law, they say discriminates against lgbt north carolinians. The fight took a new turn wednesday when the governor released his latest campaign ad. Hb2 front and center other folks were actually pushing to make our schools allow boys to use the girls locker room and showers. Are we really talking about this. Im not at all surprised to hear him using that kind of rhetoric. Thats been his caser from the beginning. I think it illustrates a deep fact is that its not boys being in the girls locker room, its girls being in the girls locker room. Hope tyler joined the protest tonight. Hes doing nothing but fear mongering and its wrong. Her transgender son, kai, transitioned a year and a half ago. Kai uses the boys restrooms and lockers rooms at sanderson high in raleigh. And she says kais been welcomed by his classmates and Wake County School officials. So when the governor boils this down to boys bathrooms, you say what . That its nonsense. This is about not having discrimination in North Carolina and just acceptance. Does this desire to be politically correct outweigh our childrens privacy and safety . And 43 of voters say theyre less likely to vote for mccrory because of his handling of hb 2. The Wake County Sheriffs Office telling us theyve now released the scene at the heritage point subdivision pool. Authorities say their investigation is ongoing. And theyre working with the North Carolina department of 17yearold rachel rosoff. Worked as a lifeguard at the pool. Authorities believe she mayve been shocked before she drowned. Her funeral is happening tomorrow. Four years after the death of unc student faith hedgepeth Chapel Hill Police still believe her killer will be found. The 19yearold was found beaten to death in her apartment. On old chapel hill road back in 2012. There havent been any arrests. But police say the case is not cold. And it remains active. Investigators say they have excellent evidence. And theyre mak new appeal for any information that will help them find her killer. A reward of more than 40 thousand dollars is offered for any information that leads to an arrest. New tonight the manhunt for a guy who confessed on facebook to killing his teenage son and shooting his wife is over. The Norlina Police chief says earl valentine. Was found dead in a motel room in columbia, south carolina. His says us marshals were waiting for him to come out, when he shot himself. Investigators say valentine broke yesterday morning. Shooting her and his 15 year old son. Now to an Eyewitness News exclusive the daughter of a man who was gunned down by her ex boyfriend expressing frustration with Law Enforcement. Her fathers killer 32year old anthony macneill confessed to his crime on facebook before his body was found behind a Cumberland County home last week. Tim pulliam in fayettville with her story. Cindy racine says she cant shake the images of seeing her father murdered. She says her relationship with trouble from the start. Sots 162605 it was crazy. It was just a big ball of crazy. Cindy racine speaking for the first time about her rocky two and half year relationship with her daughters father, anthony macneil. She says he was abusive and struggled with drug addiction. Sot 162826 everytime he would disappear i would usually call my sister cryingnot understanding why i keep putting myself through this. Last month, cindy says macneil refused to accept harm her. She filed a restraining order. Her father, eugene urged his daughter to leave home and stay with a friend. 162259 when you are leaving your house and you know someone is probably coming after you. Youre worried about your family. So she came back. Just two hours into her return, cindy says she heard gunshots from her bedroom. Sot 162105 i opened my window and seen anthony running down that road. I screamed at him. I was angry and i called the cops. While on the phone, racine says she found her father on the laying by the p gun shot wounds. That morning, macneil posted on facebook that he killed someone, and threatened to hurt himself. Cindy says she also received a text from macneil blaming her for the shooting. 163021 i was still in shock for my father. I just wanted him dead. Last week, just a few blocks from racines home, Cumberland County sheriffs deputies found macneils body. Cindy says Law Enforcement and the Justice System the Sheriffs Office says it suggested the racine family leave their home. A decision to stay that ended eugenes lifeleaving cindy to raise her 16 monthold daughter without her grandfather and father. 163534 i am not going to tell her. And 2yearold neveah mccollum. Police now think the children are with their mother. Cierra mccollum. initially they thought the children were with a man named michael mayo. Since then. Police have talked to mayo. And they have no reason to think the kids are with him. mayo says hes really upset his name was kidnapper. mayo says the department of social services and police have been searching his house. But the children and their mom no longer live with him. A durham judge doubling the bond for a mother charged in the death of her 3 yearold girl. Rocio murillo estrada. Is charged with involuntary mansla abuse. Prosecutors argued she should be considered a flight risk because she isnt a us citizen and she recently visited the Mexican Consulate in raleigh. Court documents reveal her daughter was left alone for about four hours. And that murillo estrada got into an argument with the little girl while they were having dinner out.
