Were just a few miles from the falcon9 rocket. Its right there on the pad here at Cape Canaveral air force station. Its the upper winds, though, that are Even Stronger which has Mission Managers very concerned about this. Theyre obviously watching it very closely as we approach towards launch time. Will die down before 6 46. If they dont, they still have until 8 23 to get the rocket off the ground. Atop the falcon9 rocket is the satellite providing service to folks in Southeast Asia with highspeed internet and High Definition tv. It was supposed to be launched last summer but when spacexs falcon9 rocket disintegrated two minutes after lifting off just a few weeks prior, the ses launch was postponed until tonight. In the meantime, spacex says getting that satellite into orbit successfully is their mission. The first booster is going to attempt to land on a floating barge 400 miles off the coast of Brevard County. The previous three tries have failed but spacex says theyre getting closer to their goal. The private Space Company has succeeded in landing the booster on land, though. They did so at the cape december. The ultimate goal spacex says it reusing the boosters to make space flight more affordable. And heres a live look at the falcon9 rocket on the pad here at Cape Canaveral air force station.
