Breaking this morning, a man is arrested after crashing into a florida Highway Patrol car. Now that man is facing serious charges. The crash happened near the intersection of sand lake and drive. Thats where we find johnny this morning. What can you tell us at this point . Troopers told me the driver, he is facing dui charges after he slammed into a troopers car. I want you to look at the video when troopers were on the scene trying to piece this together. A dozen troopers and patrol cars one of the troopers, they tell me the Patrol Officer, he was heading ing ing northbound when he was hit by this white toyota corolla. Witnesses say the driver of that car ran a red light on sand lake road in front of the whole foods and then hit the right side of the troopers car. The driver, like i said, he has been arrested for dui this morning. We are back live. Troopers tell me no one was hurt in the crash. We do we did also get information that the that the driver, like i said, he will be facing dui charges. They tell me that troopers tell me the driver, his maim will be released later today. You just got another update from investigators. What is the latest . Just about an hour ago, i spoke with a lieutenant from the Sheriffs Office. He tells me they are still searching for a gunman this morning. Behind me is the marquee apartments. Deputies finish their investigation. This shooting that happened last night is the latest for a complex that has seen its share of trouble. Deputies rush the mar qui apartments after the sound of gun fire triggers calls to 911. A dispute between two men ended with one of them being shot. The victim was taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. The response here signals another incident for a College Apartment complex that has had troubles with Violent Crime in the past. New management changed the name to the marquee after a string of four armed robberies in a few months time. In security but then just last month, four men held several students here at gun point after swiping electronics from their apartment. There is now a similar scene here this morning. Deputies are piecing together what led to a shooting as the victim recovers in the hospital. The past incidents that have happened, they have led to a series of security changes for the last several months. Ill tell you more about security changes that have been put in place coming up at 6 30. What about the victim in this, do we know much . We know that he is conscious and talking with detectives in the hospital. So far, they tell me he has only been able to give a vague description of the suspect. In Orange County, a woman is dead after a crash involving a dump truck. Troopers say her car collided with a truck in the eastbound lanes of 408 near golden rod. 78 years old. The dump truck driver was not hurt. Trying to get the update on a woman after a car hit her after she was robbed. She was robbed at forest city. When the thief took off, she grabbed the car. Thats when detectives say she fell down and was hit by another car not connected to the robbery. The woman was rushed to the hospital and the suspect still hasnt been arrested. In hours, the parents of a woman at the center of one of Central Floridas most infamous missing persons cases are expected to speak out. This weekend marks 10 years since the disappearance of jennifer kesze. Investigators think she left for work that morning and since then, police, jennifers parents and volunteers have spent her. We are learning information about this former Security Guard accused of raping and killing a woman woman. Police say he failed a lie detector test. Detectives tell us he followed the woman into her apartment and killed her. Duxbury agreed to take a lie detector test. Experts say he failed, saying there was a 99. 7 chance he lied on key questions like did you enter sashas apartment that night or do you know who caused her death and did you cause the death of sasha. Detectives say duxbury complained of medical issues, wondering if they might skew the results. When the test ended, investigators tried to get the confession and they say he still denied every single thing. At one point, he said, obviously, this does not look good for me. There are new questions surrounding the arrest of a predator accused of forcing a girl to commit sex acts at knife point. The girl called on wednesday against walter ambrose. Ambrose was visiting a friend when the attack happened. The Sheriffs Office says he is on a 20year probation with the county. Three sexual acts dating back to 1994. Ambrose is being held without bond. He is charminged with sexually battery on a minor and aggravated assault with a weapon. Two teens accused in a crowbar beating of another teen will learn how much jail time they are face. According to our news patches, they pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in last years attack on 17yearold daniel boosavich. The two were arrested last february and charged with first degree attempted murder. Prison. This is the first time Something Like this has happened. You may remember last month a semi hit in the same spot, catching fire and causing damage to the bridge there. Jury deliberations could start as early as today in the trial of a pedi cab driver accused of raping a woman. This comes after the man at the center of the case took the stand and told his side of the story. Check it out. She sexually assaulted me. Rape the woman and the woman was the one pressuring him. Bernard said the two had sex but it was consensual. It happened after a race at the speedway in 2014. The victim told jurors earlier in the week that bernard threatened her and forced her to perform sex acts. If convicted bernard could face 15 years in prison. In Brevard County, a woman convicted of hit ago parkway with her s. U. V. And driving off will learn how much time she will spend behind bars. Michelle simkins will be charged later today. She hit Thomas Gregory while he was playing basketball outside a cocoa beach home. The crash left the boy with two broken legs. Legs. In Orange County, there are lingering questioning following the drowning of a 3yearold boy. The toddler was found unresponsive in a backyard pool. Sky 6 flew over the scene the boy was rushed to Arnold Palmer hospital. It is unclear how the boy ended up in the water and who was responsible for watching him at the time. In Brevard County, concerned people in one community are sounding off over coyote traps. People have been told to be on alert. Now those traps have been removed before catching this animal. The reason is because the fish and Wildlife Conservation have not deemed these animals a nuisance f. A kai tee is caught and moved this could be a violation. Neighbors say with a cat being killed, something needs to be done quickly. Hopefully it wont be a tragedy for it to be elevated into the nuisance area.
