Weve got the windchill advisories. We dropped the temperatures into the 40s. We have to really get down in the 40s before the windchill makes a difference. We should do that by 9 00 tonight in orlando. Weve blurred his face because hes not being charged as an adult. Orange County School leaders praised the classmate for spotting the gun and letting them know. No one was hurt. Investigators saying a relative of the 13yearold was actually standing on a hoverboard while holding a handgun. Losing his balance, the gunfiring and the bullet hitting over his passing. He says while coaching the 13yearold over the past several years, his determination on the field, just another testament of the kind of caring young man he was becoming. He makes a b, he might cry. He was wanting them straight as. The teen was shot in the back of the head after his relatives found a gun underneath a bed. One of the teens holding a handgun while riding a hoverboard and losing his balance and accidentally firing at the 13yearold. Originally the family said another person shot the teen and took off running and only later admitting the story that one of the teens admitted firing the handgun. He had everything, the home front, the brains, to the academics, the athleticism, he now the coach is looking to honor the teen with his teammates planning to wear his jersey to remember his friend. He was so quiet, but you knew he was there, no matter what. Especially on the football field. You knew he was there. When he hit you, you knew that was him. Friends say the teen died late last night after being taken off life support, also saying he was an 8th grader at ocoee middle school. Back to you. Thank you, troy. News 6 tonight is getting answers after a cruise ship is forced to turn around after sailing through a violent storm. Four people were injured on board royal caribbeans anthem of the seas. Tonight, Eric Sandoval is at Port Canaveral finding out why the ship was allowed to sail through the storm in the first place. The anthem of the seas was supposed to be docked at port to enjoy. We now know it had to turn around and head back to new york after it encountered the storm. The National Transportation in the meantime, take a look at this video showing the captain of the ship for the first time. Well. Very well. Thats the anthem of the seas captain explaining to passengers in a video feed to their rooms, that he had no idea the storm lingering off the coast was as bad as it was. Winds topped 100 Miles Per Hour, blowing Patio Furniture all over the ship. Waves reached 30 feet, forcing passengers to stay inside their room until the storm passed. Im sure there was a courageous crew on board, but the question is, why . Senator bill nelson says he wants the National Transportation safety board to find out why the cruise line cleared the anthem of the seas to sail through that storm. News 6 found out this afternoon the National Transportation safety board is considering his request. That is pretty crazy. I dont know. I wouldnt want to go on a cruise after that. Shes sailed to the bahamas video she saw, showing what happened on board the anthem. Do you think that the cruise ship should have sailed, knowing that storm was out at sea . No. I think it was wrong for them to go. They should have held off for a while until it was better. Some of the people we spoke with today wonder if the cruise industry has their back or putting business before safety. We got ahold of senator nelsons letter hes sending to the ntsb and thats exactly what hes asking them to look into. Thank you. He says he doesnt want another disaster like the el faro, a container ship that sunk in Hurricane Joaquin last year. Theres still a lot of questions after a mass shooting at an orlando nightclub that killed two people. 11 people were shot inside the glitz ultra loud on universal boulevard. Three days later, Orlando Police releasing the names of the victims. While they tell us the shooting was not random, theyre not naming any suspects or why this happened. Attorney matt morgan tells news 6 one of the shooting victims has hired him to find out if the club had enough security. This is now the third shooting at that nightclub over the past year. Endo was hurt chasing down a dangerous suspect and thats not his last name. Its actually his only name. Sheriff ben johnson awarded the canine a purple heart and a medal of valor. The 4yearold took a bullet to the neck three months ago while chasing down a man who shot his wife. Even after the German Shepherd was shot, deputies say endo his handler was also awarded for keeping calm and helping save his partners life. Deputy wilson says there was no other options.
