The news 6 reporter Troy Campbell is getting results by digging into its past and asking childcare experts how a parents can know their children are safe. County. They say parents sometimes assume certain things are required at a daycare facility. However, they say its important to ask questions because you may be surprised. The records showing the childrens Palace Learning Center in clermont has only been open about six months. Its daycare director, 41yearold kimberly reed, arrested on child abuse charges after this cell phone video taken by a coworker shows ree hitting the child and dropping him on the ground. Records also showing reed has worked in the childcare industry about four years. Fatalities are private businesses and theyre going to run it like a private business. Sometimes parentsssume that things are going on and they el they have tosk t question. New parents might be unaware of the different types of childcare centers. Department of children and families does not inspect daycares who have a religious exemption. Not only does the police chief say that illegal activity and extreme violence happened here once the sun went down, but he says the homeless camp itself was complete setup. It starts with political gain and facetime. More than 100 people camping outside the county building was orchestrated by a county advocate. The people who need help are the ones who were exploited by elected leaders and someone purporting himself to be the internet pastor of the year. The police chief claims the homeless were told if they stayed outside the county building, the story would pay them. They set up a paypal account, we were going to get money. Thats why were here. They were very disgruntled when they were moved because he lied did you tell the homeless to go to the location and you will give them money . Never at any time. People just showed up. Did i hand out money like needs for daily needs, for cigarettes and stuff, of course. Wagner was involved in the homeless camp for political gain. The politician laying on the ground, i feel the plight of these people, i bet my life that camp was run strictly on the up and up when the politician was out there sleeping. I was there to see whats going on. Was there drugs . Absolutely. Was there crime . Absolutely. On top of it did i see three fights a night, yes. Its exploitation of somebody. Its got to end. This morning, two students claimed they were attacked by a homeless man on their way to school. Tonight police say those boys were the attackers. Stone wall jackson middle school, near cimarron boulevard and la costa drive in orlando. The middle schoolers first reported a homeless man tried to steal their cell phone and bit them so they fought back. Police say they eventually learned the students harassed the man first. Neighbors say they arent surprised saying while some of the homeless who camp out in the area are aggressive, but so are the kids. Should something change . Well, weve not seen many of our police that go around like we used to. Our neighborhood patrols . Patrols. We dont know how badly the homeless man was hurt, if at all, because police have not found him yet. They also have not said if the kids will face charges. Still breaking now at 7 00, a Security Guard accused of raping and killing a young woman he was supposed to protect will face murder charges. Late today a grand jury found there was enough evidence to indict the 33yearold stephen Sexual Battery and burglary charges. This Surveillance Video from downtown orlandos uptown Place Apartments is one of the key pieces of evidence prosecutors showed the grand jury. It shows the 27yearold woman walking with duxbury. Prosecutors say it was the last time she was seen alive. Her body was found inside her apartment, days later. Shed been strangled. Wrapped in a comforter and doused with bleach. Duxbury remains in the Orange County jail, held without bond. Only on 6 tonight, an unexpected delivery thats a real mystery. Someone has been putting catfish in mailboxes and leaving them to die. If neighbors say this is some kind of joke, its not funny. Amanda castro talked to one of them in st. Cloud. The homeowner was surprised to say the least when she opened up her mailbox and found a dead catfish inside. She thinks its kids playing pranks but is worried whoever it what the postman opened her mailbox, he found a large dead catfish inside. I was honestly in shock. It doesnt make any sense. According to a Facebook Page for Osceola County residents, two other people reported similar incidents this week. Someone threw a catfish on to a yard and another one was found in a mailbox. The 12inchlong fish may have been alive when it was left inside here sometime early monday morning. If you look, you can still see all the dirt and all the nasty sludge that was there from him. She says no one else on her street received the unwelcomed mail. She thinks shes a random victim. She doesnt know who put the catfish there but says it could be kids playing pranks.
