Were tracking them all the way from Brevard County to osceola, to zoom in tight here, even downtown orlando. Heres kissimmee, hunters creek, all getting rain again, raining lightly to back around windemere. Hunters creek is where we pick up heavier shower action. Its raining at better than a. 1 of an inch in spots that picked up a whole lot of rain through the morning hours. Still raining lightly around windemere. Heres the country club there. Isleworth, raining at. 04 of an inch per hour there. Notice its all built back in south of the villages, within the last hour and a half. Southern Brevard County has had a bullseye on you all day. Gonzales was arrested today. Along with a man. They ran up nearly a thousand dollars on a credit card stolen last month from the star motel. Detectives say gonzales and the man were working there, cleaning rooms at the time. Gonzales was most recently in the news last september when a judge threw out her defamation suit against Casey Anthony who once claims zanny the nanny took little caylee. A judge ruled there was no proof casey was talking about zanaida gonzales who filed the lawsuit. Tonight a firsthand look at some really terrifying moments on the beachline expressway. News 6 got ahold of dashcam video as troopers stopped a man driving the wrong way. Two cars crashed trying to get out of his way. At f. H. P. Headquarters. Florida Highway Patrol investigators tell me this driver may not face any charges, even though he drove the wrong way for nearly eight miles. Then again, he may never drive again either. Take a look at a florida Highway Patrol dash camera catches the moment a trooper pulls over a driver heading the wrong way on the highway. You can see this man was behind the wheel. Where you coming from now, sir . Troopers say he appeared disoriented and didnt know where he was. And as you can see, he had a difficult time following the troopers commands. Investigators say wigham caused at least two crashes as he drove eight miles the wrong way. Florida Highway Patrol, can i help you . Many drivers called 911. There are spots along the beachline that would send out alerts when someone gets on going the wrong direction. We found out today wigham did not get on at one of those points. News 6 also found out wrong way driving is becoming a really serious problem. In the last year alone, there have been nearly 300 wrongway drivers reported to f. H. P. Some were on city streets. Also developing tonight at 7 00, a new twist in a growing problem with Homeless People camped out at a Volusia County government building. After several overnight arrests, the Daytona Beach police chief is speaking out. He may have a new way to get results for the homeless. People working there and the community. News 6 reporter Justin Warmoth is there. Daytona beach police chief Mike Chitwood told me today his officers have responded to more than 200 calls for Service Since the homeless camp opened about two months ago. Now he hopes to curb some of that crime with a plan to open temporary housing. Daytona beach Police Arrested four people at this homeless camp outside the county Administration Building on beach street last night. Its another sign that the situation here is out of hand and even dangerous. In fact, our cameras caught one homeless man tearing down a sign in the parking lot and two other women appearing to come pretty close to a physical altercation. Theres two ways to handle it. Shortterm and longterm. Shortterm is what we can do before today, there was not a short or longterm solution in place. The chief Mike Chitwood says the City Attorney instructed him not to trespass or arrest the homeless for camping here because it would be illegal. There isnt a shelter for them to go to within city limits. The chief said after a meeting with city and county officials, their goal now is to create a temporary shelter nearby. The objective is to solve this problem. The city manager has been working very hard to solve it. We talked to mike and we think if we can coming up with 100 beds, we think we can resolve this situation. The city manager has been working diligently to try to get it accomplished. Despite the new developments today, he still plans on protesting outside the rolex 24 race this weekend. The goal, he says, is to bring light on the Homeless Housing situation. In Daytona Beach, Justin Warmoth, news 6. New information tonight in a Marion CountyExcessive Force case. News 6 has learned a former deputy will face federal charges. A grand jury indicted the 33yearold jesse terrell. He and four other deputies were accused of violating the civil rights of derek price in 2014. Prosecutors say they repeatedly hit and kicked price during a drug arrest. Price was left with a black eye and bruises, but has recovered. Terrell last year. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. In the last 20 minutes, sheriff chris blair called a News Conference on this case tomorrow. Well let you know what happens. Only on news 6, the florida fish and Wildlife Commission is hunting for a bear that attacked a familys pig. Theyre hoping their pet recovers in time for the fair. To get into the pen three times before finally breaking the board and the fence and attacking their 200pound show pig. Hes worried it could do more damage and now the state is investigating. My dad says you couldnt even see the pig. Chris owens says the bear attacked his daughters 200pound show pig comet monday night, leaving behind massive wounds and claw marks. He was definitely try to kill her and eat her. Owens says the bear was determined to get into the pigs pen. It tried several times to climb over the fence before finally breaking it down. Owens father heard the squeals and ran outside and saw what he described as a 7foot, 500pound bear pinning down the pig. He was laying on top of her with his mouth right on the back of her neck. Owens father scared the bear off. Florida fish and wildlife Officials Say it could have been there because of the familys unsecured dumpster. Even the trapper said hes never seen Something Like this owens is worried if a bear could cause this much damage to a large pig, it could also hurt other pets and people who live in the community. People need to know that there might be a dangerous animal this in the area. Owens says comet is part of their family, adding the attack was terrifying and stressful.
