Orlando proper will not be freezing up but there will be frost issues to deal with. Were holding at 56 degrees in orlando, 60 in melbourne. Ocala, 52. You see my camera is shaking again tonight because the wind is still whipping from the west at about 23 miles per hour. Gainesville, ocala, the villages, leesburg, all 52 degrees. 55 in sanford. 56 in orlando. 60 in melbourne. Freeze warning. Thats to the north. All of these areas youre seeing from palm coast to ocala, the sumpter county, even Northern Lake county, from there to the south, the pretty blue you see here, its not purple but if we colored it in right here from sanford to orlando, frost advisory in effect until 9 00 tomorrow morning. Crews are on the scene of a car that crashed into a house. Orlando police tell us the same driver was involved in a hitandrun just minutes earlier. Shaun chaiyabhat is at rio grande avenue and 19th street. What is the latest . I just spoke with the family who was home at the time of this crash. Theyre still here surveying the damage to their home. They say none of them were hurt, but children had just left this room before the crash. So lets get some sky 6 video we shot earlier. The crash was really bad. The car went fully into that house. The 27yearold driver of that car, he is in custody right now. This started as a hitandrun crash on Colonial Drive near i4. Orlando police say nobody was hurt in that crash. But for whatever reason, the car took off and police tried to stop that car. That is when the car ended up crashing into the house on south rio grande near michigan. Troopers say nobody in the house was hurt. But fire rescue told us that one person was rushed to the hospital as a trauma alert patient. Were still sorting out exactly where that person was injured and just how bad. Are just thankful they are okay. We thank god they got up in time. Thats mainly what im thankful for. It could have been a tragedy. You can see the house is just not livable right now. The family is trying to salvage what they can from inside their home. Police are handling this investigation into exactly what happened and, of course, theyre trying to sort out why that person drove off in the first place. Back to you. This comes after, according to sanford police, a group of pit bulls attacked virginia farley at an apartment complex last month. Farley is still in critical but stable condition at a hospital. We just learned minutes ago a the Sheriffs Office tells news 6 deputy barry taylor had a sexual relationship with a female inmate. And new developments on the attack of a 74yearold man in Orange County. Weve learned two women have been arrested. Deputies tell us they beat the victim to steal his pain meds. News 6 was there as deputies arrested the women earlier this afternoon. News 6 reporter Justin Warmoth has been getting answers about this all day. He joins us now live. You spoke with the victims son. What did he have to say . Well, hes simply disgusted by what happened. He said his dad is a nice, caring guy and befriended the two women who allegedly beat him. Tonight theyre on their way to the Orange County jail. My heart is broken that somebody would do Something Like this, not that its just my father. He says his dad was beaten bloody last night with a cutting board by these two women, apparently after his prescription pain medicines. The pair was taken into custody just hours after the alleged attack, selling what appeared to be the same drugs they stole from the 74yearold. Hes elderly, four stage Kidney Disease and fixing to go on dialysis. He needs his medication. For someone to do that because they needed to get a drug fix, its ridiculous. It happened at the mobile home in south apopka. He says the two women basically tricked him, saying they were locked out of their home and didnt want to wait in the cold. Instead, they began hitting him in the face and head but hollingsworth fought back. My dad was sitting on the couch in the relaxed position and the other female ran in with the cutting board in hand and attacked him, brutally attacked him. A downward position, elderly man in his condition, 74 years old, he cant fight back too much. Its a good thing he did. If not, the family believes the women would have killed him. They were there as the suspects were put in handcuffs and taken to the Orange County jail. They called it sweet justice. I didnt think it was going to happen this quick. Im very pleased with social media and the way the word got out and the people banded together in apopka and the surrounding areas to help us find these people. Mr. Hollingsworth is going to injuries. In light of this, hes actually considering moving out of this neighborhood, a neighborhood hes lived in for the last 20 years or so. Federal investigators say they led by a 74yearold woman. Ruth perez lopez was one of 10 people arrested in this. Agents tell us shes in a wheelchair and they seized guns and ammunition. Were told the suspects made up to 300,000 a month selling heroin in east orlando. Agents describe it as a heroin war going on in the middle of a neighbor. Its scary. It was scary to the neighbors. Clermont police are calling it a terrible accident. News 6 reporter Troy Campbell talked with the officers father about the long recovery his son faces. Officer chris cruzs family says he joined the Police Academy at 18 years old, finally becoming an officer at 21, his life taking a drastic turn on super bowl sunday while sitting next to a bond fire. The 21yearold clermont Police Officer chris cruz fighting for his life after being burned over more than half of his body. His father, jack cruz, also a clermont Police Officer, says the son noticed a gas tank too close to the fire. Just as the son grabbed the container to move it, the fuel exploded from overheating. Everyone north of, say, north of lake county, Northern Lake county is included in the freeze warning from about right here, north of leesburg through the villages, ocala all the way to gainesville to the state line. New smyrna beach, daytona beach, palm coast, all of volusia, all of flagler counties, all that area under the freeze warning, including sumpter county. Everyone else from leesburg to sanford to orlando down to the south, painted in a different color for the frost advisory. So even if we dont have a solid freeze for a while tonight, were going to get so close, the winds are finally going to calm down. Expected. Take precautions.
