Lightning strikes in the last hour. I zoom in tight on palm coast, along i95 and heres Flagler Beach, decent rain along a1a, too. Heaviest of the rain across the i95 corridor, rolling on top of you within the next 15 minutes. Back out here from deltona to sanford to oviedo, heavy, heavy rain. Decent rain, too. Hunters creek to kissimmee, you have a chance now to catch your breath. This big swath of moisture has to pass on through. As it does, just about everyone will see some of the rain activity. You found out specific groups were targeted by the hackers, right . Absolutely, matt. It includes student athletes who play on this field right behind me. It also includes any student whos worked for the university. Were talking resident assistants, members of student government. A lot of the students we talked to today now wonder if they too can become a victim. The ucf student says he just became a u. S. Citizen and hes worried about any breach of his new Social Security number. They could mess with everything, basically with all that information. I could lose a lot. And that is a big concern among a lot of students after they found out 63,000 names and Social Security numbers had been hacked. Thank you for calling the university of Central Florida response line. Ucf has set up a hotline for students to see if they were we found out this afternoon wait times are topping more than an hour. Ucf has also set up this website designed to answer a lot of questions. But one question that wasnt answered here, why did it take so long to notify students . News 6 found out today the school has known about this hack since january 8th. Even if you suspected a Student Group or a Faculty Group or what might have been breached, why wouldnt you let them know immediately . We want to be sure we know who is involved. The time may have cost students money and dings on their credit. What are they doing to make sure this doesnt happen again . President hitt has called for a complete review of our online systems, protocols and training. Were going to be looking at everything to make sure were as visual as possible to protect information. On the phone hotline, when you eventually get through, we found out today that ucf is asking students what their last address on file with ucf was. You know, since this goes back 1980s, for a lot of students, thats an address a long time ago. Police there say six people were found dead inside a home on the citys south side. According to investigators, five adults and a child were found stabbed and shot this afternoon. Governor rick scott now says there are at least 12 reported cases of the illness statewide. With the worries surrounding the virus comes concerns about the large influx of travelers in the Sunshine State, including the tens of millions of visitors Central Florida sees each year. Joins us live along International Drive in orlando. You talked with some people out there today. Is this zika virus affecting their plans at all . No, not really. The people i spoke with today said the zika virus is not a big concern for them here in the u. S. But the governor is worried about it. And he wants to make sure anyone who visits florida is safe. The Sunshine State is an international destination. Millions of tourists visit Central Florida every year to check out our attractions and shops. Many visitors come from countries where the zika virus is spreading. Governor rick scott wants to let them know florida is doing its part to protect them while theyre here. People want to go anywhere in the world, they want to make sure theyre safe. What they know if they come to florida, were going to get ahead of this and make sure our residents are safe and visitors are safe and were going to make sure we do everything to take care of everybody in our state. The governor confirmed 12 zika cases so far in the state, all of them travel related. To five counties. This woman is visit from brazil. She says her sister contracted the mosquitoborne illness. When my sister got here, she was like sleeping the whole day. She was red, her face. She just went to the hospital. Despite the fear of the zika virus, shes not worried about it here in Central Florida. She says if a tourist gets sick, they wouldnt feel well enough to visit. I dont think they would be able to be here if they got the disease because the person gets really bad when they get it. Scott says hes staying in contact with the airports across the state. Orlando International Airport says it has not changed anything and they havent received any directives from the c. D. C. And all operations are normal as of right now. He had one gun to his head and another at his side. Across the street. A crowd watched as dozens of law him. It was when he turned one of his guns on them that the shootout began. The suspect and the sergeant were hospitalized. The suspect later died. One witness says the gunshots came suddenly. I just turned around. I was fixing to go inside and i got tired of seeing it. A closer look this morning on culvert house drive in Daytona Beach. The Fire Department tells news 6 the garage was burned out. Some nearby trees caught on fire, too. One witness says she heard loud noises as the fire spread. It sounded like something was blowing up, like a bomb or something. I mean, it was really kind of crazy. Sadly, were told two dogs died in the fire. No one else was hurt. A Crime Tracker alert in Volusia County. Thousands of dollars of sunglasses stolen. Daytona beach police need your help to find this guy. The suspect at the sunglass hut on atlantic avenue. This is back on sunday. Investigators say this guy has taken 10,000 worth of glasses from stores. If you know who he is, call Daytona Beach police. Another skimmer found at an Osceola County 7eleven. The discovery comes shortly after three others were found at stores around the county. Kissimmee police tell us an employee at the store at vine street and main found the skimmer. Another was found near champions gate. So far, no one has come forward claiming their personal information has been stolen, but to protect your wallet, police say make sure you cover the number pad if youre paying at the pump.
