Thats one change that we will see today. Over the last few days, less blustery at times. Take a look at the temperatures around the area. Were looking, temperatures ranging from 28 degrees in cumberland and oakland, to 25 degrees at bwi marshall. The freeze warning in effect for the area is in effect until 9 00. Thats for all of the areas in blue there. So most of us are under that until the sun comes up. Temperature 57 degrees. Breezy, not as windy as yesterday. To the extent that people are looking at this, as an issue it is a good thing. It confronts every parent that has a 19 or 20yearold kids. Behind bars the man accused of shooting a Howard CountyPolice Officer is out of the hospital this morning and facing very serious charges. Police arrested 23yearold thursday along route 1 in savage after a 15 hour manhunt. Hes accused of shooting an officer on wednesday night who is in stable condition at shock trauma. The 29yearold was shot in the leg during a shootout with police. He is charged with attempted murder. A former Fire Department volunteer is accused of sexually abusing two children. Thats the beginning of the charges. As Monique Griego explains. There may be more victims. Police are asking them to come forward. Reporter parents dropping their kids off at a Community Dance at a Fire Department received shocking news. A former department can volunteer and organizer of the dances. Scott, was arrested for abusing children. It is a shot to the neighborhood, of course, you would expect it to be safe. It is local. Reporter even more disturbing is that Anne Arundel CountyPolice Believe that scott videotaped some of the abuse which allegedly occurred over a six year period. At this point it doesnt appear to be rundown. Reporter the Fire Department leaders are saying scott who resigned in may, not a firefighter, but an administrative employee. He was involved with fundraiser activities. The department handed out the flyers to parenting drop parents drop drop canning children off. Parents that we spoke with, did not lose trust in the department or events. I dont think that anyone has to worry about anything at the dance. And scott is facing several charges. Police are not releasing any information about the victims or to protect their identities, scott remains in jail on the 22 million bond. An Apartment Fire in bronx, new york, leaves three Young Brothers dead. The flames raged out of control killing the boys, 5, 3, and 4 months old. The their mother and young sister were able to escape the flames. They were treated for smoke installation. Three other people were injured. Crews were able to get the flame under control. No word on what sparkedded the blaze. Seven people, including two Police Officers are recovering from injuries after a homecoming event at Howard University goes awry. This is after a large crowd rush towards the gates dur yard fest. One person broke his arm and the other minor injuries. The university is saying most of the people surrounding that gate did not have a tick that the concert. The event went on. Problems with the Affordable Care act website keep popping up. This reveals charges against ramseys parents. John and patsy never received charges. But a grand jury indicted the couple 14 years ago. Them District Attorney hunter refused to pursue the charges cited a lack of evidence. The grand jury accused them of child abuse resulting in death. And in another count the couple is accused of accessory to a crime for trying to delay the capture of the killer, but that person was never named. Please, if you know anything, i beg you. The lawsuit is saying the companies are responsible for the modification and the maintenance of the limo. Millions of americans who rely on food stamps will see a change in benefits. Reporter online reporting is not the only way to check count on bullies. Look at this, the cameras are coming to all Howard County school buses to catch bullying in the act. There is a lot of buses. Reporter and with 400 buses in the fleet, each bus will have four cameras. Kylesy part of voices for change, a group that survey students about experiences with bullying. We found that almost all of the kids who have been bullied reported once or twice it was on the school bus. Reporter now, multiple students are in place so the community can stop students from falling victim to a bully. More than 250 county locations are in the system right now. Reporter good morning. Earlier this month, trooper Jacqueline Cline was hit by a car and nearly killed assisting another trooper on the side of the road. Along side of route 100, cline was struck by a car and thrown into the air. Cameras captured the near death experience of david in september of 2112. I have been hit by a car. Reporter both troopers nearly killed by drivers in violation of the move over law. Now, state police are cracking down. That vehicle is in violation. Reporter they are targeting drivers who dont obey the law that requires cars to move a little bit away from emergency workers on the side of the road. If drivers cant get over, they must slow down. In just the first day of the crack down, state police made more than 1400 traffic stops. 335 were cited for move over violations. There was an addition 481 issues. Im noticing that you didnt move over. Reporter one driver understands the importance of the law. You have to be curtious courteous. Reporter for troopers it is life and death. This is a law that saves the life of officers and people that were dealing with. Reporter a law that could prevent scenes like this. The wind from the west southwest at 3 Miles Per Hour currently. Right now, 28 at cumberland and oakland. Thats the 95 corridor for you. Around the immediate metro area. We do have that westsouthwest wind coming in across maryland and the washington, d. C. Suburbs, calm readings around the rest of the area. As long as you have that southerly component you will get the milder temperatures. Around the region we are one of the coolest right now. Detroit and chicago are warmer than we are right now. But towards atlanta and memphis, everyone is seeing the milder temperatures. Thats the air moving in our direction. Right now, much of the sate is under clear conditions. Around the great lakes, lake affect snow. Back towards colorado and back towards northwest texas, youre seeing showers. But much of the country right now is under High Pressure. This is basically the jetstream. You can see the carve out. It is lifting higher and pulling the cold air to the north. And High Pressure will allow the southwest flow. That means milder air for us. G. X. For a cold front that will move through here on sunday or monday, the temperatures go up. So a little bit above the normal high next week. That the clouds halloween for the trickortreaters. Reporter authorities are saying that dna tests confirm that this 35yearold woman is the biological mother of maria, the girl discovered in a camp in greece last week. The tv she had a baby girl four years ago and greece, but they gave her away, because they were too poor to care for her. She said, yes. I gave birth there, i gave the baby to a woman to take care of. So, i could come back to my other children. Police did an International Search after they discovered maria. They questioned the couple looking after her, because they looked so different. The couple was arrested and charged with kidnapping. Now, marias biological family want to 4yearold back. She says, i would like maria to come here. She is my sister. But it is not that simple. Police are investigating if the biological parents sold their child, if so they face up to six years in jail and thousands of dollars in fines. Lucy mcdonald, wjz Eyewitness News. And the greek couple who have raised maria plan to fight for custody. One of the quarterbacks of the nfl is saying that he suffers from memory loss. Brett favre talks about why he is so scared.
