frosty day, but nothing not to expect in january. the day time highs extraordinary. 63 yesterday. not as warm today. take a look outside. it is a clear day. yesterday we were dealing with rain. that has moved out of here. the low that was driving that rain has moved out as well. we have several fronts moving through. one tonight and one tomorrow. each one in order. it will drop the temperatures down just a little bit. today, our forecast starts off right around the 30 degree mark as we mentioned. we are starting, around 32. call it freezing. at bwi marshall. to a high of 50 degrees and then tomorrow a little bit cooler. your complete updated first warning weather forecast. >> thank you. now, here is what people are talking about this morning. convicted killer, brittany norwood will spend the rest of her life behind bars. this is after a tearful testimony. >> reporter: the judge showed brittany norwood no mercy. she will thought get parole and will likely die in prison. brittany norwood will spend the rest of her life in prison. norwood stabbed her coworker, murray, more than 300 times last year at the store where they worked. she then concocted a story that masked man attacked and raped them. it quickly fell a part under forensic evidence. >> and britany being not allowed to walk on the streets. that's one person that as a society we don't have to worry about. >> murray's father told the join he will never forget norwood. he has not moved away from range. he asked that norwood never be allowed to walk the street. >> it was absolutely the right sentence under maryland law. >> norwood was in materials when she addressed the court for the first type. she told the victim's family she was sorry and there was nothing that she could do to take their pain away. murray's mother described how the killing plunged their family into deep despair and norwood's loved one describe as the murder shattered their family and begged the judge for leniency. >> i was shocked and thought that they admitted that they had done the crime. she eventually took no responsibility for this crime today. to me, that is another -- factor that makes the sentence from judge greenberg absolutely approach. >> reporter: norwood's brother said that his sister was much loved. he begged the judge for a glimmer of hope, but he did not get it. reporting live, eyewitness news. >> murray's family is saying that jana will be alive in their hearts. a teen is in serious condition this morning after a brutal fight outside outside of a high school. 75 students stood around and watched as two teens traded punches. by the time police and paramedics arrived. one teen fell to the ground and had a cesar. we will have more on this incident, including what neighbors are saying coming up. elsewhere in the county, several firefighters are recovering this morning after their truck slides with another vehicle. these are pictures sent into the eyewitness news newsroom showing the scene on the road and route 648. the collision sent an suv off of the road and down an embankment. the fire engine slammed into a pole. no word on what caused the crash or the condition of the people involved. sex for money. police breakup a large scale prostitution ring inside of local massage parlors. >> reporter: this modest business in rockville, police are saying was home to three alleged prostitution and human trafficking operations. >> it was not a shocker. >> reporter: todd cassdy is saying it was obvious that massage was not going on. >> people were showing up after normal business hours. >> please rated six businesses within a few miles. >> they were running, of being acupressure. >> reporter: investigators arrested the three business owners and plus a fourth not pictures. they acted at pimps. >> the omeerize targeting a certain type of women that don't have ties to community or need finance help. >> reporter: people who worked around the businesses are saying there were several things. >> we see the girls all of the time in low cut and short skirts. you know, men going in and out. >> reporter: right next to this front is a massage parlor, that owner said that she turned men away. tonight, she along with others are glad police shut it down. >> it is great to know that they are onto types of activity, that type of activity in the area. >> and the investigation into the human trafficking is made easier thanks to a new law in maryland. occupy washington, d.c. protesters have 48 hours to pack up and move out. that's the final word from park police who gave the demonstrators until monday to shutdown their camp. police are saying if they don't move, they could all be arrested. police arrested three protesters yesterday for other crimes. year after driving his truck through a crowd of spectators at a drug race. a judge gives a man life behind bars, excuse me, 25-year-old justin was sentenceed to 18 months in jail. last june, investigators are saying that he intentionally struck another man after the two got into an argument at a drag racing track. he'll pay $7,000 in restitution to the man that he hit. when he gets out of federal prison, former prince george's county expert, jack johnson will no longer practice law in maryland. the troubled politician was disbarred on friday. last month, johnson was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for extorting hundreds of thousands of dollars in bibles from developers and accepting gifts. johnson is scheduled to report to prison next week. maryland's first lady, katie o'malley is apologizing after calling members of the delegate cowards for failing to pass same-sex legislation next year. pat warren with more. >> reporter: sticking up for the governor's same-sex marriage bill. katie o'malley pointed to del jets. judge o'malley told the conference in baltimore, that we didn't expect the things that happened to the house of delegates to occur, but sadly they did. there were cowards that prevented it from passing. >> they are very angry. i can assure you, many members are angry. >> reporter: the first lady later criticized others in the house for their opposition. >> i'm not sure while he is. a religious thing. or he does not get reelected. i hear that from legislators. i'm for it, but i might not get reelected. >> isn't every politician afraid of being reelected. >> reporter: and the first lady issued an apology today. despite her regrets the first lady may have alginalateed the people that the governor were trooing to woo. >> i can't believe it. i'm shocked and amazed that a sitting judged with make that kind of statement that would reveal her prejudice. >> since the first lady's comments. one delegate has signed on for traditional marriage. pat warren. back to you. >> thank you, governor is going to address the same conference tomorrow. it was a kick in the gut for the ravens. now the missed kick could help to save 31 degrees and our temperature at bwi marshall, 26 is the dew point. 81% humidity. the overall day, we're looking at a really this stretch continuing as we look at our sunrise today, that is just around 7:17. we are going to see temperatures going up very nicely. so, 31 degrees today and -- pretty much it is already recognize above our, our average high for the, right above our high for the night. the low temperature for the night. how about that. the average temperatures are 42 and 25. we never got down to what is normal for an overnight low. we're at 31. starting the day off on the mild side. cov% humidity, with a calm wind across maryland. around the immediate metro area, the temperatures in the 30s. cooler temperatures over towards columbia and 35 towards rock hall. calm readings around most of the state. we will see a bit of a south wind moving up through the region. that's going to keep us in the mild range, but we have a front moving through late tonight. another one tomorrow evening. both around 7:00 or so. we will put that out there. 24-hours between each. the one that moved through yesterday -- brought our temperatures up to 63 degrees. we cooled down just a little bit after that move. the one moving through tonight box our temperatures back a little bit. this one is coming through by tomorrow night and cooler temperatures or a snow flurry or so from sunday into monday. as that cooler air moves through. so, cooler means that we go back several degrees every day. colder close to normal. that's the first time we have seen normal temperatures in a few days now. south wind at 510 and a small craft advisory go into effect this evening. 54 degrees today. mostly sunny. overnight lows around 30. mainly clear. and tomorrow we go back up to 50 believe. the temperatures are around freezing across the state. a bit of a frosty morning, but temperatures are above their typical low. our normal low is around 24 degrees. going up to 25. all of our highs now and lows are going up about a degree every so many times now. we're getting into the longer days. we're getting into the higher daytime highs. so, we're, we're over the hump. we have a long way to go. february and march can be really unpredictable, but for right now, things are calm. going into this week, temperatures close to 60 degrees several times. 54 degrees today. mostly sunny. 30 judge shows no murray to a woman convicted of murdering her coworker. brittany norwood was sentenced to life behind bars. she was found guilty in november in the brutal killing of jayna murray. it sentencing comes as norwood's family made a plea to the judge for leniency. a move that murray's family could not believe. >> i was, i was shocked. i thought in light of the fact they actually admitted to some extent she had done the crime. he took no responsibility for this crime today. for me that is an aggravating factor that makes the sentence absolutely appropriate. >> norwood was in tears when she addressed the court for the first time. she told the victim's family she was sorry. brutal fight outside of the high school leaves an 18-year- old in serious condition. his attacker is only 15 years old. meghan mccorkell has more. >> reporter: minutes after the heiss school's dismissal, the two teens traded punches surrounded by a crowd. >> 75 kids filming on their cell phones and cameras. the post on youtube and facebook later. >> ther 18-year-old was hit in the head, fell to the ground and start having a seizure, but the 15-year-old kept hitting him. by the time paramedics got to the seen, the 18-year-old was seriously injured. >> he had life-threatening injuries. that is a priority one patient. you don't want to waste time. >> the victim is a former student at broad neck. we have learned that student officials are cooperating with police. >> reporter: the fight happened behind the school. at the corner of net nut tree. neighbors are saying that the corner is a constant trouble spot. >> the kids smoke weed, fight, argue and drink. >> it is like dozens of kids. >> reporter: now, they are hoping this tragedy will result in more police presence that could prevent anyone else getting hurt. >> you feel unsafe sending your kids to school. >> reporter: meghan mccorkell, eyewitness news. >> no weapons were used in the fight. they have not -- filed charges against the 15-year-old boy. former penn state assistant football coach, sandusky is asking for permission to see his grandchildren. he is forbidden to have contact with anyone under 18. this would allow him to contract his 11 grandchildren and to let them visit his home with their parents. he said that he is innocence of the charges. a homicide investigation is expected to get underway this morning after a body is found in prince gons county. a body was found inside of a well. there is no word on how the person died. police will release more information later this afternoon. it is the father is a man of character and faith. romney is softening his heart line position on illegal immigration, he said that his heart goes out to the people in the united states. the former massachusetts governor wants immigrantses to return to their home country. he says that ma'am will do that if they cannot find a job. >> we're not going to go up and round people up, instead, we will let people make their own decisions. based on their employment opportunities here. >> reporter: and newt gingrich is calling it an president barack obama leveled fantasy. he wants suffer border security and he southern maine. and rick santorum left with a trip to pennsylvania. president barack obama comes to maryland's eastern shore. he made a quick visit to cambridge yesterday. people lined the streets to welcome the motorcade and try to get a peak of the president. he was there to rally document leaders as they wrapped up their three day annual retreat. well, maryland's first lady is apologizing this morning for comments she made at a recent conferences. katie o'malley spoke about the governor's same-sex marriage bill at a conference calling out deliates who voted against a similar bill last session. >> i'm not sure why he is. is it a religious thing or doesn't think that he can get reelected. i hear a lot of that things from liters. i'm for it, but i might not get reelected. >> and those comments have many delegates angry with the first lady this morning. she issued an apology the next day. the ravens announce changes to their coaching staff. making adjustments after falling for the super bowl. we have more. >> reporter: the ravens defense has been dominant for more than a decade, even under different coordinators. dean pees is the latest to take over. elevated from linebacker's entertainment center scheduled to open there. it will feature a new movie theater, restaurants and other stores. the old movie theater shutdown last year. forward-looking that new development to open rain in the forecast. not really a lot of snow. we had that one brush with winter weather. we don't expect it this week at all. that one 41 moved out of here. the low up in the northeast and towards canada and another front tonight. then another wave tomorrow night. that brings the coldest airline with it and a brush of wintery weather in pennsylvania and to the north. all it is going to do for susbring a chance of rain late tuesday and wednesday. and then together chance on thursday. the way that you can read this, it is cooler temperatures and then colder temperatures. but mild air never leaves our immediate south -- with the mild air in place, every time we get a bit of a flow with the air mixing just a little bit, that mind air comes close enough and takes our temperatures up just a little bit. so, we stay around the 60 degree range for the week. look at this, our sunrise is at 7:17. the small craft advisory tonight through tomorrow morning. as the more current front comes on through here. that will be the ones that comes through at 7:00 tonight. mostly sunny today, 54 degrees and then tonight much like we are tonight. into this overnight hour, around freezing. we will it is 31 degrees. and clear in baltimore. a connecticut man is sentenceed to death for a horrifying home invasion and murder of a mother and two daughters. in 2007, joshua and an accomplice raped and tortured the family of dr. pettit and them set their house on fire with them inside. pettit survived the attack. steven hayes is on death row. the so-called barefoot bandit learned his fate yesterday. moore was sentenced to 6 1/2 years behind bars. he pled guilty to thefts and burglaries. including boats and airlines while barefoot. police searched him for two years and he gained notoriety , including a facebook page and a movie deal. this next story is a plot for a movie. a gun toting florida grandmother helped police catch a criminal. karen was asleep and heard a police helicopter. noticed a man running past her house. the 64-year-old grandmother grabbed her gun, went outside and came face-to-face with the suspect. >> i said, you move and i will shoot you. he said, please, please, please don't shoot me. he put his hands behind his head. i said don't you move. >> he did not move. police arrested the 22-year- old. he dumped a stolen car in her driveway. facebook's highly anticipated stock market launch could happen next week. according to the "wall street journal," facebook plans to file the renstration papers on wednesday. but the paper is saying that date is still being discussed. facebook would be looking to raise $10 billion with its initial public offering. the largest ipo of all times. a close call as officials talk to the media about a casino construction top of the hour. it is a frosty morning. temperatures hover around freezing, but freezing is above our normal low for this time of the year. typically we get down to 25 degrees. we got to freezing or store. we started off the program around 31 degrees. we're at 32 now. the sky is clear. the sun is coming up officially in 17 minutes or so. we have a nice calm morning starting off and a dry one. rain yesterday around this time. now all of that is gone. we're looking at clearing conditions and a nice saturday shaping up. right now, temperatures around 32 degrees. we are 33 in northeast maryland and 32 at the shore. 31 out towards oakland. our forecast starts off with 30s and goes up to a daytime high of 54. with mainly clear conditions throughout the day and night. we will have your the sentence of a judge after a day of tearful testimony and mike explains the victim's family is searching for closure. >> reporter: the judge showed brittany norwood no mercy. she will not get parole and will likely die in prison. brittany norwood will spend the right of her life in prison for one of the most bizarre murders in montgomery county. norwood stabbed jayna murray 300 times last year at the store where they worked and concocted a story that masked man attacked and raped them. it quickly fell a part under forensic evidence. >> with forwood not allowed to walk on the street. that is one person as a society, we don't have to worry about. >> reporter: murray's father told the judge he will never forget norwood, he has not moved away from range. he asked that norwood not be allowed to walk the street. >> it was absolutely the right sentence under maryland law. >> norwood was in tears when he addressed the court for the first time. she told the victim defense family she was sorry and there was nothing that she could do to take their pain away. as many in the courtroom wept, murray mother described the deep despair and forwood's loves one described how the murder shattered their family and begged the judge for leanious. >> i was shocked. they admitted to some extent she had done it crime. he virtually took no responsibility for this crime to date. to me, that's another aggravating factor that makes the sentence from the judge absolutely program. >> reporter: norwood's brother is saying that his sister was not a horrible person. she was much loved. and begged the judge for a glimmer of hope, but he did not get it. reporting live, eyewitness news. >> the victim's family is saying that jayna will be alive in their hearts and they miss her. elsewhere in the county, several firefighters recovering this morning after their truck collides with another vehicle. these are pictures sent into eyewitness news newsroom showing the scene on the road and route 648. the collision sent an suv off of the road and down an embankment and the fire engine slammed it annapolis pole. no word on what caused the crash or the current condition of the people involved. sex for money. police breakup a large scale prostitution ring allegedly operating inside of local massage parlors. we have more. >> reporter: this modest business conflex in rockville, police are saying was home to three alleged prostitution and human trafficking operations. >> it was not a shocker to me. >> reporter: todd casidy is saying it was obvious mutional was not going on. exemption in the maryland law allowing wiretaps in the cases. well, a year after driving his truck through a crowd of spectators at a drag race. a montgomery county man is facing a judge. now, the 25-year-old was sentenced to 18 month business hind bars. last june, he intentionally struck another man after the two got into an argument at a drag race. he will also pay $7,000 in restitution to the man that he hit. when he gets out of federal prison. former prince george's county expert, johnson will no longer practice law in maryland. he was disbarred on friday. last month johnson was sentence it more than seven years in prison for extorting hundreds of thousands of dollarss and accepting gifts. johnson is scheduled to report the prison next week. maryland's first lady, katie o'malley is apologizing this morning after calling members of the house of delegates cowards for failing to pass same-sex legislation last year. now, pat warren. >> reporter: sticking from the governor same-sex marriage bill, katie o'malley point today delegates who voted against the bill last sentence. she told the conference in baltimore that we didn't expect the things that happened to was hit in the head, fell to the ground and started having a seizure, but the 15-year-old kept hitting him. by the time pair medics got to the scene. the 18-year-old was injured and airlift today shock trauma. >> he has life-threatening injuries. that's a priority one patient. >> reporter: the victim is a former student at the high school. we learned that school officials are cooperating with police, even though this didn't happen on school property. neighbors are saying that the corner is a trouble spot. >> the kids smoke weed. they fight, they argue. they drink. everything goes on across from school property. >> like dozens of kids. but they think they are tough kids. >> reporter: now, they are hoping this will result in more police presence to prevent anyone else from getting hurt. meghan mccorkell, eyewitness news. >> police are saying no weapons were used in the fight. they not filed charges against the 15-year-old teen. former penn state football coach, jerry sandusky is asking for court permission to see his grandchildren. she is charged with sexual child abuse and is currently under house arrest and fobid phonohave contact with anyone under 18. a hophead investigation is expected to get underway this morning after a body is found in prince george's county. a body was found inside of a well and there is no word how the person died or who the person is. police will release more information this afternoon. we have breaking news to tell you about. now in the county, plea people are dead and another is in critical condition after a crash. it happened around 3:30 this morning in the eastbound lane of route 50. near the davidson road exit. two cars collided and the victims in both vehicles were trapped. there are significant traffic delays in the complex on the road will feature a new movie theater, restaurants and or stores. the old movie theater shutdown last year. look for that new development to open in the fall of 2014. well, two well known travel plazas along i-95 will soon get major face-lifts. we have the sneak peak of what they will look like. >> reporter: state transportation leaders is saying rebuilding the travel plazas will bring new money into maryland and new jobs for decades the houses have offered drivers off i-95 much needed r and r. >> most people traveling make this spot one of their stops. >> but plans are in the works the knockdown and rebuild the travel plazas. >> it is time that they be replaced. the facilities that we will get a modern, clean, era, more open and functioning facilities. >> reporter: the company to run the new plus a aarea u.s.a., will invest $56 million. they boost 400 construction jobs from grabs. over 35 years, they will pay the state more than $400 million. all of the current restaurants and retailers will shutdown. they will be replaced with a host of new ones. new shopping area, a convenience store and more room to walk around. >> instead of getting something to go, i'm
