hello again. it's 6:00. if you're driving around, you'll encounter some fog. sharon will show you so first, meteorologist tim williams in for marty bass. good morning, everyone. it's a challenging start. low beams and slow speeds. we have dense fog advisories in effect for most of the area. the warm air we had in place, a lot of moisture just sat and cooled overnight. now we have clouds basically on the ground that's what we're deeing with a dense fog advisory in effect until 8 a.m. that's when we'll see better visibility. daytime high in the mid-70s. overtime lows in in the 60s. here's sharon gibala. on our traffic cameras, we're seeing better visibility. they have cleared the fog warning. we have an accident on west university parkway, an overturned vehicle, another one on north north point road at quad avenue. watch for utility problems. that will be closed between belfast and shawan. at this point everything's at full speed. taking a live look. that's 50 at sandy point. everything is looking good at 70 and 29. the same thing goes for 75. for traffic information, you can log on to wjz.com. back over to you, don. a talented at let and stellar student shot during an apparent robbery attempt in are in the baltimore. this morning he's in shock trauma being treated. andrea fujii is outside coppin state university. good morning, andrea. >> reporter: the 24-year-old is on full scholarship to coppin from jamaica. his friends are stunned that he was nearly shot to death. 24-year-old dale dunn, an all academic track star at coppin state university was walking back to his apartment from the grocery store tuesday night when he was shot near the mondawmin mall likely during a robbery attempt. he was on the phone with his mom. >> his mom heard ruckus and call and friend. >> dale made this back to the apartment. his friend drove him to the hospital. >> tears came into my eyes. ran into the emergency room i need help my friend has been shot. >> he could barely talk. he was sweating. >> reporter: the university released this statement. the off campus incident is uncommon. the entire university community is saddened by this event. >> why this guy, why the same guy that everybody goes to on campus when they need help, need tutoring. >> 4.0 guy. everyone as like dale? coming up, a veterinarian will share some tips and how it could help you as well. stay tuned. the eyewitness news morning edition continues in,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,, hello again. it's 6:30. still a foggy day to start, looking down from our cam, you can see it on some of the traffic cam. we'll have more right after meteorologist tim williams. >> definitely some improvement but you'll need the low beams. dense fog advisory in effect until 8:00 for all the areas shaded there. the high due poits and moisture that just sat and cooled overnight. the forecast today looks like this. temperatures going up to 76. so one more day in the well above average zone. mostly sunny with fog in the morning burning off. we'll see breezy conditions. 43 with clear skies. tomorrow 56, mostly sunny and cooler. we'll have crore complete forecast for -- your complete forecast for the last weekend in october. they're dealing with fog on certain spots including the key bridge. we have an accident on the inner loop at 648. the on-ramp has the right lane blocked. west university parkway an overturned vehicle. we have cleared up at miller point road and quad road. delays are present on the west side between 795 and 95. 43 miles an hour is your average with a 14-minute drive time. that's a look at oaltd port road, plenty of brake lights there. 95 north of whitemarsh, starting to see more volume there and a look at the east side of the beltway where we have fog warnings in effect. this traffic report is brought to you by toyota. back over to you. a story that we need to warn you which will be graphic. a south baltimore man facing serious charges, accused of attacking young women in a most unusual way. here is mike hellgren. >> reporter: police took oritse ayu into custody. they said a woman was studying in the takoma park campus and he walked past her masturbating, spraying her with semen. ayu is charged with indecent expose sure and second degree assault. police tracked him to his home. investigators not only used his dna but also surveillance video and his car registration to make the arrest. >> the surveillance led us to a vehicle registration that came back to a rental car company that came back to him being the renter of the vehicle which enabled us to identify hot suspect was. >> reporter: wjz searched court records and found that ayu pleaded guilty to indecent exposure in 2004. he paid a $500 fine and court costs plus six days in jail. in ayu's case the victim was cooperating. still, they're looking for other possible victims. mike hellgren reporting. >> ayu has a court hearing scheduled for next month. maryland estate police is face lag lawsuit from the aclu. they want to know how a woman was disciplined after a woman was called the "n" word. the last of three baltimore city police officers killed over the past month was laid to rest yesterday. hundreds gathered on north charles street to honor officer tommy portz. he died when his patrol car rear ended a fire truck. >> he's a great friend. >> he was a big teddy bear. tommy would come by, spend a lot of time with his family. >> he leaves behind his wife and three children. a simple trip to the grocery store turns into a fight for survival. a star athlete and model athlete was shot outmondawmin mall. >> reporter: the coppin state student was shot twice, damaging his trachea. 24-year-old dale dunn, an all academic track star at coppin state university was not near the mondawmin mall. all the while he was on the phone with his mom. >> and then his mom heard a ruckus in the background and then his mom called a friend and said, úcheck on dale, >> dunn made this back to the house. >> tears came into my eyes, just to run into the emergency room and scream out, úi need help for my friend. he's been shot. >> i was trying to talk to him in between, but he was--he could barely talk. he was sweating. >> the university released this statement. occasionally i'll she fat dog or fat cat, but is it a real problem. >> obesity in both dogs and cats and one of the most treatable diseases there s there was a recent survey done by veterinarians that 45% of dogs and 58% of cats are overweight, so that's a large risk of diabetes in cats. arthritis in dogs. it can lessen their quality of life or shorten their life span. >> i guess you're giving out tips about how to keep your pet from being that way. i own two dogs. my partner on the show owns within dog. our dogs look fit. one of my dogs will get fit if i let her. what are your tips?
