the trial as the jurors enter their third week. right now, we go to mary bubala with the breaking news from the courthouse. >> reporter: sally, at 4:30 today, the jury passed yet another note to the judge. i will read it to you quickly, it says, we have not come to a decision but we are making progress. may we have just one more day. >> you have to listen to the jury. when the jury says that they think that more time will not be productive and that they prefer to come the next day, i have you have to honor that request. >> reporter: so jurors will be back here at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning for a fourth cay of deliberations while the city waits, including major sheila dixon. the jury in the trial in the state of many maryland versus sheila dixon enters it's fourth day. both the defense and the prosecution says it's a good thing. >> it's impossible to predict. we are just going in and hoping it ends as a very good day. >> it's hard to think of how jurors are thinking. your speculation is as good as mine. >> by all accounts from her staff and public appearances, major dixon is trying to stay focused on running the city of baltimore. she attended a celebration for the every man's theater. >> she's been very resilient. being able to continue the city's business. to me it's very remarkable. >> >> reporter: as the day went on, more notes came. that evidence pertains to an exhibit number three that deals with gift cards that were given out to needy families in 2006. plus the defense and prosecution, they are a little perplexed while the jurors were asking for this piece of evidence in the case. it does not pertain to the 2005 cards which were the patrick turner cards or the 2007 cards which were the holly trolley cars. kai back to you. >> live complete coverage what's going on during deliberations. several notes from jurors obtained by wjz are revealing more about what's going on during deliberations. around noon, juror 12 said they are making great progress. but previous notes illuded tension between the jurors. the jury forewoman later wrote the judge saying, she had never seen the notes and she had not even been allowed to see it. prompting the judge to ask the jury that all notes must go through the foreperson first. while the deliberations are going on several day, that is not unusual in high profile cases. >> juries are inherently unpredictable, not only don't we have any ideas what's going on behind those closed doors, but frankly the jury itself may not have a clear idea of what the chances are of reaching a verdict. of whether it'll be guilty or not guilty and when. >> reporter: in this case, jurors must rely on their evidence for testimony, and deal with most of the evidence being thrown out in complex instructions. one thing they may not consider is that they will throw the mayor out of office. >> the closer we get to the holidays, more pressure there will be on the part of the jury to get this done. >> reporter: these jurors certainly have written a lot of notes, some of them less significant, asking for smoke breaks, when they can use the telephone. but they will resume tomorrow at 9:00 to resume deliberations. mike helmgren, wjz news. we will have breaking news for you in just a moment. well, tonight we know the names of two maryland state troopers injured in a track as a red mustang led them on one high speed change. we're live in the wjz newsroom. >> reporter: michael o'brien and christopher morgan were released from the hospital. the chase caused two accidents along the way. murphy has been charged with attempted murder, assault and numerous traffic offenses. >> the two troopers are recooperating at home through the thanksgiving week. we have breaking news to report to you right now, a fire in west baltimore, sky chopper 12 is over the scene. let's go to captain perry with more. >> solano court and gilmore street. where a fire in the first and second floor of a row home was just extinguished by firefighters just moments ago. when we came on the scene, we had very heavy smoke and flames coming from the first story of the home. firefighters were able to get the smoke and flames knocked down. no word on the cause here. the fire apparatus is blocking both solano and north gilmore. >> captain mike perry reporting live. a teenage girl trapped underneath a car in the city, chopper 13 was live over the scene moments ago. that's where the 16-year-old was reportedly struck and became pinned under the car. she was rushed to the hospital. locklane road had to be shut down during the rescue. but it is now reopen. a woman drove her station wagon straight into the harbor off of pier four early saturday morning. dive teams were able to pull her body from the water but it was too late. the woman is 31-year-old latasha johnson who had just come from a high school reunion. violence has been plaguing the hanto nville community. a suspect in the most recent injury is recovering tonight in the hospital. >> reporter: the suspect was shot in the some manage during a police involved shooting, as he recovering, detectives investigate as he's responsible for other crimes. in the most recent of a slew of violent acts in baltimore county, tracking down a suspect ends with an intense exchange of gunfire involving three agencies. >> a couple of police cars were hit. >> reporter: police say the saturday night shooting started when county detectives entered city lines. police pulled over a car he was riding in when the suspect fired several rounds at officers. authorities initially reported the suspect was also wanted for shooting two men inside the york store near by. shooting the owner and injuring 20-year-old mice. >> he is wanted from the shooting on saturday night and by the attempt murders of several police officers. >> you're looking at where all these events take place. detectives are going to look at incidents in baltimore county. police are looking at possible links between the carjacking and what happened at the york store. >> you have to be behind bullet- proof glass these days. >> reporter: now police wonder how many people are in danger. >> it's just starting to sink all in, our childhood. >> reporter: police are not releasing the name of the suspect here at shock trauma. they are planning to do so when charges are officially filed at the end of the week. >> the victim of the carjacking i said kept was treated and -- carjacking victim was treated and released. we are live outside tonight, it's still overcast as change just a little bit, hopefully things dry up. colder temps out in colorado. may play into some rain for us on friday. it's black friday, big shopping day. this pressure that's off the coast of the carolinas is moving off to the atlantic. we have a lot of clouds, if we had a little bit of dry, we might have some sunshine. i don't expect a lot of rain tomorrow. to our north, hasn't done anything yet. but this rain is headed toward our direction. in boston, you will probably run into some rain. let's come up on the air, wince will be diminishing at the bay. we'll see some occasional good workers in place. everything looks like it's running the same, no difference. >> reporter: council member drake who would be named mayor if major dixon were found guilty, did not have anything to say about the trial. >> i think they are doing a good job. it's a very complicated case. they seem to be taking it very seriously. i'm proud of them. >> reporter: you've been a real advocate of the jury, what do you think of them being out this long. >> i think if they came back quickly, it would not be a good sign. if it took a long time, they are really working at either trying to build a consensus or do the right thing. their minds weren't just made up or instant reaction. i think it's a very good sign. >> good sign for her? >> good sign for the city of baltimore. >> reporter: in a department. about 17 students and a teacher were medically treated after being exposed to pepper spray. am maryland assistant killed -- a maryland assistant killed in the fort hood attack has been laid the rest. she leaves behind two daughters and a sister. 150 employees were evacuated from three mile island sunday afternoon after workers cutting a pipe stirred up some radio active dust.
