>> dizzy. >> reporter: only after i pulled the emergency oxygen did i realize how far downhill my ability to function had gone. >> i thought i was going straight and level. and i was -- >> you continued climbing? >> i was going up to 32,000 feet. >> reporter: the real one can go up to 9gs. subjecting a pilot to nine times the weight of gravity. watch this pilot pull 9gs. listen to his breathing and watch his chest heave against all of the equipment he wears. another is this vest. when hooked up to an oxygen machine, it inflates to protect my lungs from exploding at high altitudes, but also make its hard tore breathe. that, -- harder to breathe. that says commander robbins in virginia, turned out to be the cause of the hipoxy. >> the vest was inflating, any time you pulled any g's on the aircraft and staying inflatedded, which was making it difficult to keep air in. >> they no longer wear the vests. even without it, there are -- there have been two cases with pilots having oxygen shortage. but they say that is a mystery. >> according to defense secretary pineta, until it has solved the mystery, the f22 will remain on a short leash. art walk thursday evening. witnesses say it was a peaceful event. then riot police showed up. some reports say there were possible links to occupy l.a. witnesses say rocks and bottles were being thrown at officers. four officers were hurt. and 20 arrests were made. well, a pair of chimps escaped from their cages and took to the town. but their ending did not come happily. aaron drawhorn reports. now one chimp is alone for the first time. >> bj is enjoying grapes. back in her cage after being tranquilized. >> it's horrible. it's horrible. >> reporter: they rescued, cj and buddy. caring and loving the primates for years now. somehow, the chimps escaped around 10:00 a.m. >> maybe they just kicked and kicked and kicked. and&somehow, the right angle, they popped the lock off. >> it was double-locked and they had a padlock. >> buddy and cj ran free for half an hour. >> it was all caoss. >> -- chaos. >> miguel played with the chimps for eight years. >> i tried to calm down the male chimp. but he was too excited and aggressive. >> reporter: gutierrez was feet from buddy, seconds before his life ended. >> they were just screaming at me to get out of the way. because they were getting ready to shoot. get out, get out, get out. >> reporter: an officer shot and killed buddy in the middle of van rue. >> they had families. what could they do? >> it's a definite tragedy. >> reporter: they said the nevada legislature, and u.s. congress needs to take action. >> nevada is one of the few states, one in six actually, that do not have any laws or regulations that would restrict the private ownership of dangerous exotics. >> reporter: back in the cage, cj is alone for the first time. >> it's tragic and something we've always feared and dreaded. >> in maryland, a wide varate of exotic pets are restricted. wild felines, bears, raccoons, skunks, fox, primates and other exotic pets, are not allowed to be privately own. nearly half a million high chairs are being recalled because of a dangerous design flaw. 21 children have been injured because of falling tags on poly high chairs. several retailers have sold the chairs over the last seven years. stars we've lost this year. chris jacobs has a preview from hollywood. >> reporter: coming up on entertainment tonight, we are taking a special look back at the stars we have lost so far in 2012.
