dismissed for the day. clearly showing the jury is having a hard time coming to a decision in mayor dixon's trial. >> we appreciate that the jurors are working very hard, that they are giving this case a very serious deliberations and we are very appreciative of that fact. >> reporter: major dixon is accused of using gift cards intended for the needy. >> i think jurors are probably having a problem with corruption in this case being a gift card. so, that may be it. but again, the jury may be talking about something totally different. >> reporter: the jury has already sent two notes. two he was carjacked. an update on a story we first told you last night at 11:00. a woman shot and killed was there attending a viewing for her boyfriend who had been murdered. police are searching for a link between the two killings. >> reporter: a city police officer guards each door at the funeral home in west baltimore. investigators say sometime around 7:30 last night someone fatally shot regina megahey. she was attending her boyfriend's wake who was murdered last week. police are looking for a link between the murders. anthony mcfadden was shot to death near his home. as his family gathered, mcgahee stepped outside to take a phone call, and someone was watching. >> at some point, our victim in the case who had been inside came outside, when the gunman opened fire on her. >> reporter: those shots peered mcgahee's chest and the window where she was standing. >> nothing sacred any more any where. >> reporter: joseph h. brown iii says his business buries many homicide victims, and to 30. today baltimore held another swine flu clinic. experts warn with the holiday season approaching, you should only travel if you are feeling well. the guide lines for cervical cancer testing are also changing. new at 11:00, kelly mcpherson explains the changes. >> reporter: patients and doctors believed getting a pap smear every year could help prevent cervical cancer. but now it's all changings. ing. some in the medical community say that's too aggressive. >> unfortunately i had quite a few abnormal pap smears. and eventually i had to have a procedure done to rule out the negative abnormal cells to make sure they weren't cancerous. >> reporter: if she had waited for the test. >> the abnormal cells that were there could have turned into cancer. >> reporter: the cervical cancer recommendations are that pap smears should start at age 21. >> everyone if they don't know they have it. they are going to get rid of it on their own. that's what they're telling us. >> reporter: does that make you nervous? >> yes, that does make me nervous. when it comes to cervical cancer, in the very young -- and i have patients teenagers that come in with cervical cancer, those are not picked up with pap smears, they have problems with bleeding. >> reporter: a new guideline of not getting a pap smear every year, will translate into patients not seeing their gynecologist every year, and that is not what the guidelines say. >> we need to educate the public, you know by the way you still have to have an examination once a year. >> this guideline change comes just one day after women were told to wait until 50 not 40 to get mammograms. some are questioning if this is to lower health care cost of precancer screening. >> historically when we have seen recommendations published in the united states, the insurers have indeed moved to be supportive of those guidelines. >> reporter: the baltimore doctor we spoke to is a member of the organization that released those guidelines. he believes the motives were not financial, and releasing these guidelines near the mammogram ones were coincidental. >> thank you kelly. health and human services secretary has spoken out against the new mammogram guidelines but has not yet commented on the new pap smear guideline. lawmakers are expected to vote on whether to allow the full senate to start working on the bill. 60 is the magic number the democrats need to keep the legislature alive. the price tag is estimated at $1 trillion. that's one reason the republicans are against both the house and senate versions. democrats say part
