I spoke to one who had to be rescued on about today and she told me that she lost the only pictures that she had a friendly husband. Here she told me she is just thankful to be alive. We broke our stretch of five days in a row of 90degree heat. This afternoon with the clouds and rain and we only hit 81 degrees and thats where we should be for this time of year. Temperature right now a 71 degrees and lorraine and 71 akron canton. Very mild and muggy out there. Fortunately we wont get rid of the humidity just yet. That will come toward the end of the week and the upcoming weekend. Tonight we are down to 70 degrees. Some of us in the upper 60s. A few showers around. Not much though. Cloudy and lots of fog. Watch out for that tomorrow morning. Winds out of the south and west and are pretty light. Here is what is going on. We do have a few showers around the area mainly south of us. These are what could be moving in a little bit through the night tonight. But this area along the ohio river valley where it meets the Mississippi River you can see a lot of rain and even some heavier showers. That is the area of yellow that you can see. With that sitting here there some thunderstorms from time to time. It wont be a washout tomorrow. Tuesday is a bigger threat of rain and widespread showers as the area of low pressure moves in. But if you notice where the low is sitting they still have some flood waters. Unfortunately as that low moves into our area we will be on lookout for potential of flooding issues. The formerly county prosecutor went to represent ohios 14th Congressional District for 18 years. And so their biggest wish after he passed was to bring their little boy home properly. They never imagined the kindness they would receive. Its truly a celebration here at Akron Fulton International airport. The trip of his lifetime. The lifetime of 12 yearold Carson Higgins. He was just the need is kid. Always so positive and smiling and happy no matter what he was going through and complained. Carsons long battle with neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nervous system, faced with such strength and hope. Here at fox 8 he was family, our saint jude ambassador. And in his Summit County community he brought people together. We have struggled together, we cried together, weve prayed together and we have supported each other. It was fitting he returned one last time home with a nice bagpipes played as loved ones and friends await the return of this young son, brother and friend, who made such a difference in peoples lives. No one knows that more than his brothers and loving parents who walked off of this private jet sunday. The pilot was funny. He parked and he came back and he said there might be a few people out there waiting for you. He said just a few, just being funny and the we looked at the cockpit and holy it was breathtaking. Just amazing. What a Beautiful Community and beautiful people. The Higgins Family has been traveling the country for weeks with carson seeing everything he wanted to see. Sadly he passed away on thursday and las vegas. We are sad. Its hard not having him here but we know he is in a better place and he is not in pain anymore. To travel home together.
