Stephanopoul stephanopoulos. Good evening and welcome to day two here in cleveland. Its official now. Tonight, donald trump has become the republican nominee for the United States. He has rolled over more than a dozen republican candidates and here is that piece of history. Put over the top by his son, don jr. It is my honor to be able to throw donald trump over the top in the delegate count tonight with 89 delegates. And another 6 for john kasich. Congratulations, dad, we love you then just about an hour ago, donald trump spoke to this convention for the second time in two nights. And bracing that moment. Today has been a very, very special day, watching my children put me over the top earlier. Nominee. I will never forget it. It is something i will never, ever forget. A little over one year ago, i announced my candidacy for president. And with your vote today, this stage of the president ial process has come to a close. Were going to bring back our jobs. Were going to rebuild our depleted military and take care of our great veterans. Were going to have strong borders. Were going to get rid of isis and were going to restore law and order we have to restore, and quickly. Law and order, among many, so many things. I will be discussing that. Thursday night, i will be talking all about it. But together, most importantly, we are going to make America Great again. Have a fantastic evening. Ill see you tomorrow night. Ill see you on thursday night. And we will win in november. Thank you. Mini acceptance speech from donald trump. We expect donald trump jr. To come out many moment. Im here with matthew dowd. Here comes don jr. Thank you. Good evening. Im donald trump jr. Im the thank you. Thank you. Im the father of five Young Children from 2yearold chloe who kai who just turned 9. Im husband to vanessa, an amazing wife and mother, and the im an american. And tonight, i want to talk to you about the country we live in. The country our children will grow up in. For my generation, this is the most important election of our lifetime, when that will determine the future of our country and in turn the future of the world. For too long, our country has ignored its problems, punting them down the road for future generations to deal with. In business, i was trained by my father to make the tough investments and decisions today to ensure a Brighter Future tomorrow. We have actually started to believe that solving our great problems is an impossible task. That is why we need to elect a man who has a track record of accomplishing the impossible. For the first time, parents no longer think that their kids will be as well off as we leaders and the faith in our institutions. But remember one thing. Were still americans. Were still one country. And were going to get it all back. Were going to get it back better than ever before. I know well get it back because i know my father. I know that when people tell him it cant be done, that guarantees that he gets it done. I know that when someone tells him that something is impossible, thats what triggers him into action. When people told him it was impossible for a boy from queen fos go to manhattan and take on developers from the big city, rather than give up, he changed the skyline of new york. Ive seen it time and time again. That look in his eyes, when someone says it cant be done. Year ago. When he was told he couldnt possibly succeed in politics. Hmm, yes, he did. For my father, impossible is just the starting point. Thats how he approaching business projects, thats how he approaches life. Whether its teaching his granddaughter how to swing golf club or tackling the toughest negotiations, hes always fully committed. Thats why the person who had never run for office before stood on the stage 11 months ago in this very arena with 16 professional politicians, and this week, that same man will stand before you as our partys nominee for the president of the United States of america as a proud son and family member, it was one of the great honors of my life to be able to put him over the top in the delegate count earlier today. His unrelenting determination is why hes going to become our next president. And why i know that when my father says he can fix the country, he means it. You want to know what kind of president hell be . Let me tell you how he ran his businesses. And i know, because i was there with him by his side on job sites, in Conference Rooms from the time i could walk. He didnt hide out behind a desk in an executive suite. He spent his career with regular americans. He hung out with the guys on construction sites. Pouring concrete and hajjing sheet rock. The guys in harvard and wharton locked away from offices in the real work. He is with the talent and the drive that all americans have. Hes promoted people based on their character, street smarts and work ethic. Not simply paper intercredentials. To this day, many of the top executives were people who started out in blue collar but he pushed them to succeed. His true gift as a leader is that he sees the potential in people that they didnt even see in themselves. The potential that other executives would overlook because their resumes dont include the names of fancy colleges and degrees. I know he values those workers and qualities in people because those are the qualities he out. That he could trust our formative years in these men and women says all you need to know about dont trump. We didnt learn from mbas. We learned from people who had doctorates in common sense. Guys like denny who operated chain saws who worked through the ranks to be a trusted adviser of my father. Why we are the only children of a billionaire as comfortable in a d10 caterpillar as we are in our own cars in of my father knew those were the guys and gals to teachous dignity and hard work from a young age. The idea that whoever we are, wherever were from we can get ahead. Where everyone can together. The other party tells us they believe in the american dream. We should worry about economic inequality and immobility. You know what . Theyre right. But they dont tell you it was their policies that caused the problem and it was their policies that have no accountability. They gave us the worst immigration system in the world. One that imports immobility, one that drives down employment and wages for hispanic americans, africanamericans and everyone. An immigration system that favors illegals over those tries to go through the process legally. And at times, even over lawabiding citizens. It was Bernie Sanders himself who warned that a large tide of new workers keeps the wages low and the poverty high. Students, those who have no options. Growing up, my siblings and i, we were truly fortunate to have choices and options that others dont have. We want all americans to have those same opportunities. Our schools used to be an elevator to the middle class. Now theyre stalled on the ground floor. Theyre like sovietera Department Stores run for the clerks and not the customers dprks the teachers and administrators and not the opportunities. You know why other countries do well in k through 12 . They let parents choose where to send their kids. Its called competition. Its called free market. And its what the other party fears. They fear it because theyre more concerned about protecting the jobs of tenured t desperate need of a good education. They want to run everything, top down from washington. They tell us theyre the experts and they know whats best. Of any country of any time in history. Selfsatisfied people at the top. The new aristocrats. We cant live like that any longer. Its too risky. Let ple talk about the risks. The other party is a party of risk. I have spent many time with many great americans who have sempbed this great country in the military. And they know whats at stake. When we have weak i leaders in mission positions of power, americans risking their lives for freedom are less safe. Almost daily, i get a call or a text from a real american hero. His name is mark geist and im proud to call him a friend. Mark was part of the Security Team at benghazi. He received frantic phone calms from the b compound. Calls that pleaded for help. Calls that he tried to answer. Calls that didnt save friends. Because secretary clinton ignored his request for help leading up to the months and weeks up to the attack. It was a tragedy and one that would be repeated were she to win the election. Ask mark who is fit to lead, who has the judgment to lead, who will take that call at 3 00 in the morning, yeah. Or better yet, ask yourselves if you were in marks shoes that night, who would you rather call . Let me tell you something about risk. If Hillary Clinton were elected, she would be the first president who wouldnt pass a basic background check. Its incredible. Hillary clinton is a risk americans cant afford to take. She says she will issue executive orders to take away americans guns. She wants to abolish the second amendment. Look at inner city chicago. Where 70 people were murdered last month alone and where over 3400 american lives have been lost since this Administration Took Office in 2009. You know why those laws fail . Criminals by definition dont follow laws. Rather than prosecuting real criminals, she could strip hardworking, lawabiding citizens to protect their families. She will throw every obstacle to Affordable Energy produced by america, by americans for families. Rather than energy independent, our country will be beholden to her buddies in the middle east. Those are risks we cant afford to take. And when we win, were not going to have to. Theres so much work to do. We will not accept the current state of our country because its too hard to change. Thats not the america i know. Were going to unleash the creative spirit and energy of all americans. Were going to make our schools the best in the world for every single american for every single ethnicity and background. Were going to put americans first. All americans, not a special class of crony elites at the top of the heap. Were going to elect a president who will work with everyone to pass legislation that will make our country great again. A president who will give us a tax code that will free the American Economy loopholes for the wealthy. A president who will give us an Immigration Law that protects american citizens and gives them jobs. A president who will repeal and replace obama care without leaving our citizens without health care and without destroying seniors for health care has Hillary Clinton has proposed. A president who knows we cant simply delete our problems but that we have to tackle them head on. A president who wont allow pc culture to put the safety and wellbeing of our children and loved ones at stake. A president who wont bow and pander to nations that shudder at the very thought of americas existence. A president more concerned about the safety of his fellow americans than the feelings of hostile would wipe america off the face of this earth. A president not beholden to special interests, foreign and domestic, and one who funded his entire primary run out of his own pocket just to prove it. A president who will secure and defend the borders of the United States and believes freedom requires a government. A president who wont use the highest office in the land as a path to personal enrichment. A president whos actually created real jobs who has actually signed the front of a paycheck and who doesnt just talk about it in theory. A president who has real peoples families and livelihoods dependent on his success and the success of his companies for decades. A president who and nopt just when it behooves him to do so. Who doesnt use a focus group and analytics to be able to form a simple opinion. Who say what is needs to be said and not just what you want to hear. A president who will unleash the greatness in our nation and in all of us, who will give the hardworking men and women who built this great country a voice once again. That president can only be my mentor, my best friend, my father, donald trump. And when we elect him, well have done all that. Well have made America Great again, greater than ever before. Thank you, and god bless. [ cheers and applause ] donald trump jr. , brings this convention to its feet. He worked through some butterflies at the start. Gave a very powerful speech. You can see the father and the son right there. And matthew, you also saw imbedded in the speech, one of the mottos of the campaign. He said, donald trump can do the impossible. And donald trump, a larger than life reality tv star whose signature phrase what youre fired has now been hired. And no one else has electrified the crowd like donald trump jr. Everyone here is here to see a trump. And donald trump jr. Brought them to their feet. If donald trump gives that speech on thursday night with that president ial atone, there are going to be a lot of happy republicans. Happier than they have been so reminded, hes the real republican and conservative in the family. He was the one republican, his brothers and sister were not registered republicans, couldnt vote in the primary. But that was the most substative speech. This is a policy speech, invoked the feelings of jack kemp, paul ryan. He talked about opportunity, school choice. That was a republican speech and i think the most effective speech we have seen in the convention so far. A reminder this is as much a Republican Convention this a trump convention. Absolutely a trump convention. And the trumps are the people the people at the Convention Want to hear from. Even the people who have not signed off on donald trump the kids are the people they want to hear from. This speech not only did good policy. But also talked about his father as a determined person and then sweet anecdotes just mixed in without them being syrupy. But all of Donald Trumps children except the 10yearold standing there, saying we put our father over the top as the nominee of the Republican Party. That is a moment in history. No question about it. And it follows Melania Trump, Donald Trumps wife last night. I want to go to david muir. All day long, the Trump Campaign has had to deal with the controversy with Melania Trump blamed for taking words from Michelle Obama. The for known for, he was talking about his nerves going in, he said it would be 11 to 12 minutes except for the applause. And i said it was going to be a welcoming crowd. As you said, this crowd wants to hear from the trumps. As you mentioned, there was a lot of pressure coming in, and last night, it was melania taking the stage and all the similarities between the two speeches. I asked donald trump if anyone would be fired. He said no. And i asked if it was plagiarism, he said no. And what i asked about the first lady. Do you believe Michelle Obama is owed an apology in any way. I dont know. Whoever is involved, i dont think so. I dont think this is something of that magnitude. I understand from a media perspective, trying to create a bigger story than it is. So no apology. I dont do you think a head should roll . A speech of that magnitude, they are going to work with speech writers. It doesnt have to do with a poll or nonsense that im hearing. Do you suspect that your father is angry that someone allowed im sure hes not thrilled about the situation but were going to move on. Don jr. , i did ask him if he wrote mhis speech tonight. And he said yes, and i said with help, and he said, of course. It strikes me to see their children there and Tiffany Trump followed by don jr. On the stage, that this is the new family business, politics, and they plan to take it to the white house. Lets stay on the floor. Tom llamas is there. You have been with the trump beginning. Donald trump has to be outraged. It was his wife. The first major public interduction. And the headline was that eggs were stolen. I have covered donald trump. He does not like criticism. I have had exchanging with him as we all know. Criticism is something he does not like when it comes to his family and or his wife. But the Trump Campaign hopes to move beyond this. And i think it will help them get beyond this. What we have seen there from don, he is Donald Trumps son but he is one of his closest advisers. The trump children are really the incircle of this campaign. They have been there for every single major decision. And to their credit, when a lot of people didnt believe in donald trump, his children were behind him every single step of the way. I spoke to him after the top moment when proclaim the new york vote. And he said its the coolest thing since hes had children to ever happen. He said it was so intense. And eric trump, he is in pure jubilation that this happened and they are able to do it through the state of new york. And eric trumps wife telling me that eric trump is going to deliver the best speech. Saying shes impartial. You get eric tomorrow night. Ivanka thursday. It did feel like during don jr. s speech, the convention turning a bit of a page. Yes. Definitely turning a page here. And here, governor Chris Christie right next to me here, brought this crowd to its feet with a blistering indictment of Hillary Clinton. It is something that Hillary Clinton responded quite rapidly to, referring to his problems with the bridge investigation in new jersey saying right guy to bring an indictment against him. But you can feel in this crowd, as he asked him to chant, was she guilty or not guilty, the real energy of the Republican Convention, it is antiHillary Clinton. That is what unites republicans. And he, governor christie, managed to do it in a blistering fashion. Goff nor, you did make a blistering indictment of Hillary Clinton. They were chantding, lock her up, having a good time with that. Do you think that is a good thing for american politics when political disagreements has a crowd becoming a mob saying lock her up . Come on. This is such an overstatement on your part. I think conventions are supposed to be fun. I think people are having a good time tonight. But its based on her i didnt make any charges up there based on empty rhetoric. Every one of the things i said are base on fact, based on her record and based on her sayings under oath just last week. These people were having fun. Im glad they were having fun. That is part of what a convention is for and how you unifie people. As one of the 17 who ran had against donald trump, is what unites the Republican Party that energy, the negative lock her up energy antiHillary Clinton, is that what is bringing the Party Together . That is part of it, sure. Its either or, its chicken or fish. So you got to decide. So part of it is, you love your candidate and want him to win. And part of it you cant imagine your opponent winning. Both of them unify a party. Elections are choices, i made my choice. I made it a long time agonchts thanks. Thanks. You were on the floor strong statement there Chris Christie. We will take a break and be right back. Abc news live coverage of the Republican National convention will return in a moment. Before it became a medicine, it was an idea. A wild whatif. So scientists went to work. They examined 87 different protein structures and worked for 12 long years. There were thousands of patient volunteers and the hope of millions. And so after it became a medicine, someone who couldnt be cured, could be. Me. Back live in cleveland. Here again is george stephanopoulos. We are back here live at the convention. Ben carson coming up. You heard the speech from don trump jr. Put his fathers Business Record front and center. The democrats are going to do that too. Theres no question. Look, donald trump has left a lot of misery behind. We know that he had the fraudest students who wanted to go to trump university. We knew he rooted for the Housing Market to crash. Thousands of lawsuits, donald trump has a record, there is no question about it. Its not a record that most Hillary Clinton is going to expose that next week at the democratic convention. And you know what else . She is going to continue to raise the fact that hes the first nominee in recent history that has not relaxed his tax returns. Shes released 38 years of tax returns. What is he hiding . What is he hiding. How big of a problem is that going to be . I think right now, voters want to know who is going to make the economy better. Tonights theme of the convention is making america work again. And don jr. Really focused on this generational question, is the next generation going to be better off . I think donald trump is talking about experiences is on the strongest theme he can be on with voters right now and i think his son did that to try to make a case in the convention. There is dr. Ben carson. Ran against donald trump and now the human brain, this remarkable organ defines our humanity. It gives us the ability to not only find and observe but to reason. When we elect a president , we need to use ta power of reasoning. To look at their history, their character. What kind of people they really are. It makes all the difference in the world for us. And it is going to be so critical right now. We must resist the temptation to make the easy way out. And to passively accept what is fed to us by the politically elite and the media. Because they dont know what theyre talking about. But they have an agenda. Now, we must also be weary of the narrative that is advance bid some in our own party, the notion that a Hillary Clinton administration wouldnt be that temporary. You know, that it would only last for four and at most eight years. Theyre not using their godgiven brain to think about what theyre saying. Because it wont be for eight years. She will be appointing people who will have an effect on us for generations and america may never recover from that. That is what we have to be thinking about. You know, interestingly enough, we have to start thinking about what would Hillary Clinton do if she was in fact the president. She would appoint Supreme Court justices. She could appoint federal judges, and that would have a de delli and she could have a system if denigrates the education of our young people. Puts them in a place where they are never going to be able to get a job, where they are always going to be dependent and where they can therefore be cultivated for their vote votes. This is not what america is all about. This kind of deception. And in is what we the people have the necessary obligation to fight. Now, one of the things that i have learned about Hillary Clinton is that one of her heroes, her mentors, was saul olinski. And her senior thesis was about saul this is someone that she greatly admired and affected all of her philosophies subsequently. Let me tell you something about saul. He wrote a book called rules for radicals. On the dedication page, it acknowledges lucifer, the original radical who gained his own kingdom. Think about that. This is a nation where the founding document, the declaration of independence talk about rights that come from our creator. This is a nation where our pledge of allegiance says we are one nation under god. This is a nation this is a nation where every coin in our pocket and every bill in our wallet says in god we trust. So are we willing to elect their role model somebody who acknowledges lucifer . Think about that. The secular Progressive Agenda is antithetical to the nation. If we continue to allow them to take god from our lives, god will not be with us. We will not be blessed and our nation will go down the tubes. We will be responsible for that. We do not want that to happen. Donald trump, he understands that very well. He understands that they want to ensure its available to all. Not just a few. This is to take on the establishment against all ords. The American Worker and his desire to put his skills on the american interest, not his selfinterest. I am proud to support donald trump, an extraordinary businessman, the right leader for a time such as this. But you know what . It is not about donald trump. It is not about me. It is about we the people. And Thomas Jefferson said that we would reach this point. Because we the people would not be paying attention and it would allow the government to grow, to expand and metasticize. And we the people would recognize what is going on. What we are about to lose and we would rise up and we could take control of our nation. To rise up and take america back [ cheers and applause ] there you have it, ben carson. Conservative favorite, evangelical favorite. And matthew dowd, one of the ironies here, it was donald trump who actually won the evangelical vote in the primaries. Which was surprising with ben carson in the race and ted cruz in the race. And donald trump makes that point every single time when he goes out and talks about it. Ben carson was also deeply critical of donald trump in the campaign. Turned around relatively quickly. He turned about very quickly. Primarily becau cruz more of a threat. He battled viciously. Donald trump mocked him in the campaign. Donald trump turned around quickly. Donald trump went from ridiculing ben carson, to someone he called pathological to someone he saw as a great man. Terry moran, it appears to be a protest on the floor, a code pink protest, surrounded by american flags. What can you tell us . Its a remarkable breach of security. I have got to show about five passes to get into this place, to get down on the floor, its not very easy. And the fact that we have now had several demonstrations here and i just say, look, during the primary season, trump crowds were aggressive to say the least to handling protesters. These delegates, i dont even sense i sense territorialitterritoria we are not seeing any violence there. But surrounded by Trump SupportersHolding American flags. They are trying to move her out of there. We see security right there. We remember somebody seemed to get mitt there hit there for a second. Far more graphic violence seens at the campaign. Absolutely. When and people who went to them, just observers were shocked by it. But this will is code pink, an organization that is antiwar and they come in to many events, not just republican ones. They protest against democrats as well. She could have been a delegate for all we know going on the floor. We have seen, martha raddatz, code pink protesters demonstrate they always imagine to get in. Its actually very small. Its actually hard to see where they are in the arena. But clearly they are moving that protester out of there. When the protesters happen at trump rallies, he said it liked it because the camera would turn around and see how many people are coming to the rallies. You see there, there are a lot of empty seats in this convention hall. I have never seen that prime time in a major convention. And donald trump is is not going to like that at all. David muir, youre in the alaska delegation . Thats right. They were in full view yesterday, some of the stop trump story. Alaska is a different story. You guys came here. You watch the news every night. You feel strongly about your role here. You wanted to represent ted cruz and donald trump. Alaska to pep accident how they felt. So the majority in alaska felt they wanted ted cruz. We have united now in donald trump. Some of you were in tears because of the role you knew huh to play here and you wanted to represent the people of your state fairly and accurately. But im curious, donald trump jr. On the stage tonight. This was a republican speech, he talked about teachers. Did he make the face to unit the party to dont trump . Absolutely. I am a teacher. I care about kids and their education and i want someone in office to support that. Did he make the case . I think he did. We hope our votes had been counted the way the people of alaska had voted. All right. You can seeing some of the unity those are ted cruz stre supporters. We have a lot more here tonight including Tiffany Trump. We will be right back. Abc news live coverage of the Republican National convention will return in a moment. Thats all i crave. E thats where this comes in. Only nicorette gum has patented dualcoated technology for great taste. Plus nicorette gum gives you intense craving relief. And that helps put my craving in its place. Thats why i only choose nicorette. Is it a force of nature . Or a sales event . The summer of audi sales event is here. Get up to a 5,000 bonus on select audi models. Back live in cleveland. Here again is george stephanopoulos. As we said, this is the trump convention. All the Adult Children of donald trump are speaking at this convention, daughter of donald trump and marla maples. Lets season to Tiffany Trump. My father, he keeps it short and the take away is usually the same, to help us find our own way and our gifts. If you do what you love, hold nothing back and never let fear of failure get in the way, you pretty much figured out the trump formula. My dad is a natural born encourager. The last person who will ever tell to you lower your size or give up your dream. I always look forward to introducing him to my friends, especially the ones with preconceived notions because they need a man with no facade. He is so and so real. They walk away with a glimpse of all that he means to me, the strong, protective, kind, endearing man i am so proud to call my father. Tiffany trump here on tuesday night at the Republican Convention. And tom llamas, she is one of the children we have not seen much on the campaign trail. She was a bit of a mystery. She was still in college. She just graduated this year as she said in her speech. She wanted to talk about the softer side of donald trump. And she lost someone very close to her and the first phone call she got was from her father. They were all backstage watching don jr. Speak in the green room and cheering him on. Even though this is is a family that has different mother, they all seem to be together around donald trump tonight and supportive on this special night. Back here in the studio. Matthew dowd, tomorrow night, eric trump as well. But the big star tomorrow night, mike pence, Vice President ial nominee. Trump really hoping that he unifies the party as well. The last two nights are what ultimately drives in numbers. The vp nominee and thursday, the biggest speech of Donald Trumps life coming. You judge the convention, its been well orchestrated tonight. But the next two nights will determine if its a successful convention or not. Last night got a little off the rails but there is optimism of some of the delegates. There is. On the floor tonight, as we started here, it was like a light switch went on. And donald trump is the nominee. And i said, what do you want to hear . And they said, we want who he wants in his cabinet. This is the nominee. He wants to have those things. Sounds like Chris Christie is running for attorney general. They want him in the cabinet and the Supreme Court. One of them was the speaker of the house, paul ryan, he also spoke tonight. Took a while for him to come around to endorsing donald trump. Tonight, he tried to make the case. Have we had our arguments this year . Sure, we have. You know what i call those . Signs of life. Signs of a party that is not just going through the motions. Not just mounting mouthing new words for the same old stuff. Meanwhile, what choice has the other party made in this incredible year filled with so many surprises . They are offering a third obama term brought to you by another clinton. And youre supposed to be excited about that. For a country so ready for change, it feels like weve been cleared for takeoff and someone announced were all going back to the gate. And jon karl, you covered paul ryan for a long time. When he was up here as the Vice President ial nominee. He has made no secret about his disapproval of trump and had a hard time coming around. Make no mistake. His heart is still not in it. He is here for an alternative vision of what the Republican Party stands for. Donald trump achieved something remarkable winning the nominee against all the odds. All of that is true. But he did it by defeating the Republican Party as we know it. And the Republican Party on which paul ryan grew up. Mitch mcconnell, thes leader of the senate, speak tonight. But he was booed. We talk about bushes and romneys not being here. These voters said no to the republican establishment and the leadership. That is not who they are interested in. Paul ryan is trying to walk the middle ground. But this is a trump convention. And the people who are not yet trump people are just waiting to hear him on thursday night to bring them around. Theyve eager to get there. Do you get a sense from the leadership of the Republican Party there is melancholy. That donald trump has now redefined the Republican Party in his image and its not necessarily what they wanted. Is it what democrats want, donna brazil . There is no question we are not going to rare donald trump believes we can go back to. President obama will be next week at the Democrat Convention talking about he has helped turn the economy around. He will talk about the millions of americans with health insurance. We will have a much different story to tell than the doom and gloom and fear and Halloween Costumes we have seen over the last couple nights. Looking ahead to tomorrow night what do ted cruz and mike pence have do . Do you think ted cruz will still endorse donald trump . I think ted cruz will lay the ground work to be a part of whatever comes of the Republican Party in november. Whether that is a Republican Party that is fuelly reborn. With donald trump in the white house or trying to figure out what happens after trump. I expect ted cruz tomorrow night to really lay down his marker for what he stands for and we are moving in the next four years. Thank you, kristin. And back down here on the floor, empties fast. Very fast. This is the texas delegation. We were Walking Around tonight to the places, the delegations from states that donald trump didnt win. Ted cruz won texas. Rick perry ran from here. Ohio, wisconsin. You talk to people and you do get a sense as they clear it here, that this party has a ways to go before it becomes the next Republican Party, the new Republican Party youre talking about. The level of enthusiasm, even the level of unity is pretty low as we have been talking ability. And one of the things, having covered convention, the draw here is the celebrity, not the policy, not the programs. It is the trump family and donald at the top of it. Its a different kind of ideas, since ronald reagan. That leads to a question about trumps speech on thursday night as well. How much traditional policy as we saw from don jr. Do we actually see in Donald Trumps peach we see thursday night from the themes he struck through the his campaign. Well, paul manford has said that is not going to be the speech he has had rally after rally. He suggests its going to be a much more tra kigsal speech. He just reassure those in the Republican Party that dont like the direction he is going that he can be president and reassure the country that he can be steady, actually a commander in the United States. Give don jr. s speech. David muir . I got to tell you as i there is talk about how many trump members are on the speaking circuit here this week in cleveland. But this audience, this is what they are here for. They were here if donald trump jr. Tonight. And melania last night. This is a group is telling me this family is going to reunite the Republican Party. Thats the story with the crowd, matthew dowd. How about the people watching at home.
