Life. Its the one thing that we all have in common is that our parents bring us in this world and they bring us into this world under different conditions. Being a broadcaster since 1995, ive heard some of the most amazing and some of the most saddest stories that anyone can ever hear. There are mothers like my mother and sisters its interesting. My mother lost her father in 1985, 32 years ago. And her sister, all of them lost their husbands and theyve lived for at least 3040 years after their husbands passed. And you will find this shocking. None of them were involved with a man they never dated. They were never intimate. Their lives were about their children and those kinds of women dont exist today. A lot of women have to remarry to keep the family together. So it leads to talk about my mother. Theres so many things that people know about me about politics and the statements i make are controversial and they empower institution. I talk about it with such stretch because ive never known the kind of sadness but the things that give me strength is one of the best jobs ive heard as a human being was taken care of my mother. It was my greatest joy was i told you. You brought enough . I brought one just in case she wanted. Oh, no, the small one. I know. Thats what has motivated me to build wealth and create institutions and own hotels and businesses around the world because i all wanted to take care of my mother. I never wanted her to want for anything because you dont know the kind of life my mom was born in. She was born in a household when she was 32 years old, my father departed from this life in 1986 and for the birth of the 4th child on january 1st died in child birth. And my father had four kids. And he came to my father armstrong howard. I said i know your daughter has never been married and i have four children and i would like to have your daughters hand in marriage. And within four weeks, they were married but out of duty to his father and duty to this man that needed a mother married them and in addition to having 8 children and six of us are alive today. And my mother struggled through this. Can you imagine today some man going to some father and asking for their marriage without ever talking to her before . You would not see that today. And my mother was not always the happiest woman in the world but she made the best of it through her faith in god and examples that she set for her. And one of the things they always said was that boy, i just wanted to make the lord my best days my last days and as a young boy as a son, there was something in my spirit and i knew then i was among other things i was born to take care of my mother. And boy did i take care of my mother. Because you do it for me. No idea. Are you going to share it with me, mom . And welcome back. After a lot of confession and lobbying, let me welcome miss williams tailor howard. How are you doing . Im doing well, mr. Armstrong. And how was it to celebrate family on the show . Well, um, i cant recall a whole lot during my time come up in the household but i remember us being raised in the same household and remember our parents farming and gathering tobacco and mom and working and they believed in planting a garden and we would gather some tomatoes and okras and we would shell the peas and my parents did a lot of canning so our freezing was often packed with plenty of beans and during our time also i recall my parents raised animals, cows and chickens. And she loved chickens. She gathered dozens of eggs. I honestly i believe it was one of her hobbies. Daughter, she depended on you more than she depended on the boys, doesnt she . She does. Oh, she does. Shes our mother. For the most part because i pick up my grocery items. I got mommas medicine and keep up with all of her doctors appointments and i plus momma calls my cell phone all the time. Can you depend on her . Does she do what you ask her to do . I would think most of the time because if i dont do it she gets upset. Have for my brothers . Thats quite something. There are brothers that are pretty successful. They do pretty well. Not really. Im kind of used to it. Any pressure . No, no pressure. Theres a national. Its no pressure but its a good thing. Resources are god to have. Inside resources so it all works out. I dont know if you picked up on this but we actually get along really well. But thats what you wanted you know dad was very strict on he and mom about us getting along. Thats something that was kind of pet peeve. He said than he didnt want us when he was going to be fighting with each other. We had to support each other. So that had something to do with our parents, mom and dad, they just did not tolerate that. Now morgan, you have a daughter logan. Ive been there ive been there 15 years. We have a daughter logan, shell be six. Shell be in first grade. Shes spoiled. She is. Shes rotten. Logan is a piece of work. We want to talk about our olders brothers and sisters because we dont want to leave them out. You have to give people a reason to gossip. Well, you know our older brother who lives in connecticut, he recently lived there for 24 years. The baby boy no, no, shes married. Yes, shes married. So we were talking about b or o boyd, shes into mary kay. She should have been an interior decorator. And shes the class of the what do you think about spending money on the poor and they dont come out of poverty. Im Armstrong Williams and this is the right side forum. Consider and welcome back. My brother ken and i who is my brother. And mom, you said that y years. Has the lord done that . He did. He blessed me. We didnt come here to stay. And you still love the lord, dont you. And you still come to church on sunday. Thats the thing. Going to church on sunday. Are your children good to you . They are. You have no complaints . No. [ laughter ] so children come from their parents. Yes. The and you expect them to take care of you . Yes, i do. And ken is a state senator. Do you expect him to do what you tell him to do he doesnt get sassy with you, does he. Yes. I do listen. Tell us about gerald. Gerald was your first born. He had a seizure. What happened to him . He couldnt talk. And you take care of him . Yes, sir. Isnt that a lot for you at 82 years old to take care of him . Yes, sir, hes my company. And you feel that hes your responsibility. Yes. And you take care of him . I do. The best way i can. Yall know my character. Senior citizens. I have the best brothers and sisters. Take care of your parents, not in terms of material things but dont make excuses that you cant come home. My mother at 86 years old was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. And my mother, i would rub her hand no matter what was going on. I would be in that hospital taking care of her cheering her and through it i saw the miraculous arm of god. God showed us mercy and he showed us grace. A couple of years ago, my mother was in the hospital. And she said i want to go home. Mother came home and she wanted to spend her last days at home. And as sad as i want to feel, theres a spiritual empowerment to taking care of your parents. Theres something spiritual about making sacrifices for them. Honor thy mother and so that thy days on the earth may be long. The best friends i had were my parents. But when my father died, all of that love went to my father. And on this day, i have no regrets. Theres no more than i could do. So i realize that on my mothers death bed on friday, april 7th, 2017, when she was drawing her last breath, it doesnt matter how much money you have, no matter how many people you know, it doesnt matter how vulnerable you are, you need to realize youre losi ever known to man. Ive been on top of the world. Ive seen many wonders in the world. Ive seen greece. Ive seen niagra falls. But theres no wonder that ive ever seen that matches the wonder of a mothers love. So take care of your mother. Take care of your father. Because when they close their eyes and theyre gone, theres a part of you that dies that will never return. And i can say that the best job that Armstrong Williams has ever done is that i take care of my mother and never made excuses as to why i cant spend time and when she needed me, i was there. That was my greatest gift and i can tell you as spirit, her lesson and her love will always, always be a light to my footsteps as i continue this journey through life. Im Armstrong Williams. You know so often many times, people ask me questions. You know my momma has been married to dad for a long time. The many nights that you laid on my bed when i was on the road. I want to say thank you the many mornings that you would get up and fix us some lunch. I remember that your children were blessed. And i would come home crying and i am so thankful that you crawled int looked into the bag and said theres only bread and you put it on the table. Every morning when were together, i thank you. Thank you, mom. Good morning. Im Kenneth Moton in for kendis gibson. And im diane macedo. Here are some of the top headlines were following on world news now.
