He would use this claim of ptsd. And, dan, ptsd not the same as insanity. Thats right. Ptsd is not enough to say i shouldnt be held responsible for my actions. It has to be my ptsd was so bad that i didnt understand right from wrong. But, look in this case this is a comparatively good insanity claim and what i mean by that is the insanity defense is always tough emphasis on comparatively. Hang on one sec. Its really tough in a state like texas, its really hard to win an insanity defense but they have evidence here of not just Mental Illness, but of comments he made afterwards that may suggest that he didnt understand what he did was so terrible. Thats the important thing in this case and to have the victim himself having said this dude is straight up nuts shall thats not a legal or medical assessment but is sure helpful to the defense. My agent kind of hounded her agent for awhile to get it set up. Iing too the meeting. I thought it went well and didnt hear for a few months and she said it might take me a little while to work you into the story but i said, okay this is good but then i didnt hear and then i kind of forgot about it a little bit and my agent called and says i have scandal news. You dont ever want to hear that from your agent. I was thinking oh no what, divorcing again . Gosh i cant keep up with it but then he told me that i was going to be on the show and i swear i was so excited and im still that excited to be a part of it. You handled it. You handled it. Okay. A little bit different this season for you and your character. Turnabout is maybe not so fair play. Yes. Yes. Well the thing is i think people thought lizzie my character, was all bad and i think were starting to see that she has a conscience and she draws the line so hopefully we can kind of see that these kind of evolving and changing. Based on a true story of seven latino students who formed their high schools first Cross Country team with the help of their gym teacher and coach and he gets schooled by the mother of one of his students. Take a look. Welcome to the family no no senor ya please gracias but i couldnt. High husband always working but every day he is sitting at the table with his family. How you want to be family if you dont eat together . I want that back. And so good to have kevin with us and, kevin, this movie does really pull at your heart heartstrings. When you read the script it had to just draw you right in. Yeah it was a true story and frommingly enough i in high school played against this school and lived up in the Central Valley and, you know to see the workers when you go down the road to the left and to the right and those days start early and go long and to realize that while this may look like its a sports story, you know a Cross Country thing, its actually about as american of a story as you can possibly get. Its about men and women who will work the hardest jobs in all conditions just to make their life better for their children and what happens is this coach comes into this town and he gives these young men an idea that they can be something that they never thought possible because the only thing growing in that community is the prison and what happens, they succeed beyond their wildest expectations. They sure did and theres one scene where you, your character, jim white, gets out in the field under that hot sun and is picking cabbages. What was number one, im assuming it was very important to show that and to actually get in there and to live it. It was important at he to that he was a fish out of water and somehow he had to immerse himself in the culture and the only way you can begin to even understand because these it wasnt just their parents pigging it was these kids pick before they go to school and they pick when its over. And a lot of us dont really know how the food is getting on our plate but its these people that do this and so he did at one point his team was falling apart and he decided i will go pick with you. I will be with you and to this day that man is still in that community, jim white. It is a real feelgood story. Its a wonderful story and theres a wonderful scene at the end. I dont want to give it away where you get a glimpse of the real characters. Yeah and i think thats nice. Theres all kind of stories we can tell out there and sometimes we tell you know the romantic comedy whatever you want to say to these big movies but sometimes we get to see a persons life in america in a place youre not often privy to into. Youre a busy guy. I know that youre also very proud of another film. Black or white is something thats been out for two weeks and people are finding that movie and i appreciate everyone who is going and has been and talking about it.
