Then there is ginger in philly, the oldest parade in the country and lets start with ginger who has been tracking all of that holiday weather making it so difficult for so Many Americans to get home on this holiday. Even on the train down here we saw several of those accidents and obviously this morning it is so much nicer and we are much more festive. The energy is up. The temperatures are downut it is nothing like this. Look at the numbers. Some reaching 0 inch, more than eight states a foot or more of snow. One, two, three, go. Up to 20 inches of fresh snow, dangerously coating those holiday roads from North Carolina to maine. Just trying to be safe, getting to massachusetts. Nearly 800 canceled flights. Started down the runway and we got shut down. We keep getting texts its delayed. Reporter the seasons first major snowstorm in the northeast. Striking at just about the worst possible time. I plan to be in North Carolina. Reporter snow piling up, branches and power lines coming down leaving hundreds of thousands with cold homes and warm refrigerators. I think probably all of my food now is going to need to be thrown out. Reporter in des moines, iowa, the whipping winds sending snow sideways and cars off the road. We should say the overnight snow helped quiet things down on the streets of ferguson although there were angry protests in other american cities. This as this country and the family of shooting victim Michael Brown react to the exclusive intervi with officer Darren Wilson conducted by abcs george stephanopoulos. Abcs alex perez is in ferguson. Good morning to you. Reporter good morning, dan. The good news here is the overnight protests were mostly peaceful. Just one person arrested. Now, Michael Browns family responding to that interview with some strong words for officer Darren Wilson. Overnight, a tense, almost eerie calm in ferguson. National guardsmen patrolling the treats fearful that protests like this one would erupt for a third night in a row. And while snow may have kept the protesters at bay in ferguson, the same couldnt be said elsewhere in the nation. Protesters were once again out in force in los angeles and oakland. In st. Louis, one group storming city hall. Demonstrators even gathering outside the u. S. Embassy in london. All in protest of a grand jury decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown. In that exclusive interview with george stephanopoulos, wilson addressed the 18yearolds parents directly. Im sorry that their son lost his life and theres no nothing you can say thats going to mac a parent feel better. Reporter on wednesday browns parents responding to wilson making the rounds on television supply dont believe a word of it. Its a murder. Reporter and the thanksgiving day parade in st. Louis has been postponed until december because of the situation here and in new york city, authorities are keeping a close eye on the parade there after internet chat their protesters planned to target the parade there today. We do begin with new video from another Deadly Police shooting thats made National Headlines but this one in cleveland where a 12yearold boy was shot. Now, Surveillance Video shows tamir rice in a park waving and pointing what looks like a firearm. Police say that when the patrol car arrived an officer issued three orders for the boy to show his hands and when he did not, the officer shot him. That weapon turned out to be a toy gun. The boys Family Says Police acted too quickly. Those officers are on leave pending an investigation. We do have new details about that daring raid by u. S. Special forces who stormed an al qaeda hideout in yemen this week. They rescued eight hostages being held in a cave in the volatile eastern part of that country. Overnight a Government Official confirmed an american journalist and other westerners were also being held in that cave but were moved just two days earlier. No word on their fate. Meantime, special Operation Forces joined troops from yemen conducting the raid killing seven militants before airlifting the other hostages. And we do have a Major Development in the battle against ebola. Researchers say the first test of an experimental vaccine on people shows that it is safe and, get this, it appears to be working and so far no serious side effects have been reported. Authorities in Northern California say the state dodged a bullet when this Union Pacific train derailed sending 11 cars into that river below. The train was carrying only corn, but once a week a train carrying crude oil travels those same tracks and if that train had derailed, the spill could have contaminated a nearby reservoir that supplies Drinking Water to millions of people. And retailers in chicago on alert after the smash and grab. Look at this, a minivan crashes through the doors of a clothing store, 20 thieves then run out of that van and from nearby cars grabbing thousands of dollars in merchandise in just two minutes they grabbed at least 200 pairs of designer jeans and each pair of those jeans sells for up to 700. And finally, theyre very expensive. A classic case of what would you do. Imagine youre in burger king ordering a whopper, you notice a bag that was left behind in a booth. We begin with the man accused of pretending to be a doctor to con a stay at a swanky resort running up a big bill and running off without paying. He is now spending this thanksgiving behind bars and abcs linsey davis is here with more. Reporter he eluded police for months. Jeffrey cochran who if you run into him on the street he might tell you he is a heart doctor or professional golfer. Police will tell you he is an artist, a con artist. You might cll him dr. Dupe. Jeffrey cochran is behind bars accused at staying at a posh Pennsylvania Hotel without paying for it by pretending to be a doctor. Its as if he stole the idea right from catch me if you can played by leo dicaprio. Pennsylvania police say he stayed in a 500 a night hotel at the nemacolin resort woodlands for two weeks in may and ran up a tab of 16,000 and left without paying a dime. Only leaving the hotel once employees caught on. Police finally arresting him during a traffic stop in michigan six months later. According to Court Documents he initially called the hotel posing as another doctor from a local hospital and telling them to set up a house account for an outoftown doctor named jeffrey cochran. Authorities in nebraska say hes also want there had because earlier this year he did the very same thing. Telling a hotel he was a doctor doing work for a local hospital and that the hospital would be picking up the tab. That stay lasted 47 days. Apparently the idea isnt so farfetched. 20yearold matthew shite was sentenced to a year in jail after he was arrested in 2011 for impersonating a physician assistant in a Florida Hospital when he was just 17. I started doing cpr on her for two minutes. But cochran seen in previous mug shots has allegedly taken the charade further. Its finally time to see if there is anybody out there that can actually put up. Reporter back in 2009 he was interviewed by fox sports in las vegas where he went by the name of jeff muny and claimed to be a professional golfer. Cochran was arraigned yesterday. He faces a preliminary hearing on december 15th. He has not yet entered a plea. According to the hotel in pennsylvania, they became suspicious and tried calling the doctor who was supposedly going to pay his bill. Turns out cochran answered that call and walked right out of the hotels back door. My grandmother used to say pay now or pay later. Apparently he is learning that lesson the hard way. Im surprised the hotel didnt demand a credit card up front. I always have to, right . Were not con artists so i guess, you know, theres a way to talk your way out of that. Or were staying at the wrong hotels. Thank you. Appreciate it. Put it in the oven and everyone gets to pick their flavor or like i did with that ice crime scooped straight through. Looks incredible. What is your guess . 20 to 30calorie dish . Oh, this is dessert, okay. Lets not talk about what its going to do to us. Calories do count on holidays, dan. Cheap day. Come on. I like it. We got to spin the wheel again. Ill do it right. And pecans and some pumpkin seeds and then we just drizzle this molasses on top. Let me tell you, this is a super food. This is a super food right there. Fancy. And, kimberly, thats how i do it.
