That will be the story this afternoon, tracking the temperatures hour by hour. Couple of headlines, the first is the flood watch. Belooks like our rain chance the lines of very heavy thunderstorms. The second thing we are keeping an eye on is the possibility of Severe Weather. Late this morning, storm prediction center, the folks in norman, oklahoma, that started to develop this strong weather, the places that have the strongest weather possibilities as it expands from the raleigh area northward into northern virginia, that is a problem. In our area, it has been placed under severe storms back to produce isolated tornadoes. A lot of this is how it actualize his come how strong and widespread it gets. It depends on the temperatures continuing to rise. We will get breaks in the overcast and a little sunshine to destabilize the atmosphere. This entire area is under enhanced outlook and probability for severe storms and isolated tornadoes. Upper 30s, north and west. 57 in andrews. An hour ago it was just 4950 degrees. Still chilly off to the west. That theto think highest probability of Severe Weather is east of the i95 corridor. We are looking at a few downpours as well. The heaviest ones are cross Washington County in maryland. A few more in warrington. Overhead, higher in the atmosphere, a couple thousand feet up, there is all kinds of motion and action with very high winds. That will contribute to the storm. A couple features are important right now. These areas moving through North Carolina right now, they will get some of the showers. The heaviest stuff to the southeast. T ithe second area behind that, big break in the overcast. Is the source area for heavy to Severe Weather this afternoon. We will migrate east and move northeast into the region. The warmer it gets and any peaks of sunshine weekend will increase the chances that probably after 4 30 5 00 well see areas of Severe Weather, maybe lines of severe storms moving through our region. We superimpose the area of storms right now. We notice the position as the here. They will go on the eye95 corridor. With the expectation of these possible storms, slight to moderate risk. We have a category higher. We think these will be stored in and around the storm. The tornado possibility is enhanced. They could be isolated hail storms but that is not a big story for us here. 2 00 this afternoon, we should start to pick up some downpours, and there is heavier rain. 5 00, a very intense thunderstorm is possible , and these are the ones that can cause damaging winds and also the possibility of isolated tornadoes. Watch as it moves. Pretty much this long piece of the i95 corridor will have the biggest threat. Finally, later tonight, but cold front blow have gusty winds and clearing skies. Downright windy tomorrow. That could be another weather headline. Mild in the mid50s. As we go to the rest of the week and headed towards the weekend, look for conditions to change a little bit.
