Sam sweeney is live outside the courtroom with the very latest. Sam . Sam deliberations began at a 30 this morning. By 9 00 they had their first request, they came out and asked for posted notes and highlighters. They resumed deliberations after the judge granted the request and then shortly after at 9 10 the defense came and filed a motion for a mistrial. Yesterday afternoon, students went home from Baltimore CityPublic Schools and were talking about not riding after the verdict comes out, to remain peaceful. The judge denied a request. At 11 00 the jury came out with another request. They wanted Computer Speakers so that they could play audio from the trial. The judge granted that. They are looking over all of their work. They have been asked to go through each piece of evidence and it appears by the request that they are doing that and they will continue to have deliberations throughout the day. They will take a recess for lunch and they will resume at 1 00. If there is no verdict they will end again tonight at 5 30 and do it again tomorrow at 8 30. It is being ruled as a homicide. It happened in the hallway of the Marbury Plaza apartme southeast. He was in the custody of special Police Officers, armed private security guards licensed by the district. Smith was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. D. C. Police tell us that they are still investigating the case and so far no one has been charged. Developing this new, idc d. C. Elementary School Teacher is charged with cruelty to children. Cameron lewis of hyattsville teaches at turner elementary in southeast. Police say that he grabbed an eightyearold so hard that it left a visible handprint am sent the boy to the Nurses Office in tears. Lewis has been removed him his teaching responsibilities during the investigation. Police are now asking anyone who may have had similar incidents with lewis to give them a call. Police and Prince Georges County are investigating two deadly shootings just minutes away from each other. The first one was on 50 third place and hyattsville, coming just minutes after a different shooting in glendale. Jeannette reyes is there with new details in the newsroom from the last two hours. Not long ago police learned more about the second murder on 50 third place in riverdale. Authorities say the victim was 52yearold luis montague. It was not believe that the shooting was random. Police found montague inside of his home with multiple gunshot wounds. Police arent charging police are encouraging anyone with information to give them a call and are offering a reward to anyone who can give information that lead to an arrest in the shootings.
