Two people were stabbed on this pedestrian bridge on k street between second and 3rd street just after 1 00 in the morning. Police say two people were stabbed, one in the leg and the other in the abdomen. The man stabbed in the abdomen was pronounced dead and the other was taken to the hospital where he is recovering. We learned this incident began over third and i street. You see a Massive Police response. Investigators from the homicide unit coming for clues, trying to figure out what led to the stabbing, if there is a motive, and who the suspect may be. All the others ended up settling because apparently in texas, money can buy you good fortune. Because of those settlements, the couches, ethan who killed those people in the crash, and his parents never had to take accountability for anything until these deposition. Because of that, we have these depositions and they show what a dysfunctional family it really was. The family let their kid do anything he wanted. They never said no, which is why they allowed him to live in a 4000 square foot mansion in texas alone at the age of 16. He was drinking and driving for years before this crash, and that is probably why it happened. No one ever told this kid no. No one ever told this kid that the laws do apply to him. 20 20, we go through the entire story, talk to the victims. We hear from the couches themselves. Autria when this trial was going on, people all around the appalled that it seemed to get him off the hook. Now that we are hearing from the family directly and they are essentially saying, we let him get away with everything, it seems that is going to further intensify the outrage for this family. Affluenzaidea behind is because he was never given any limits, this kid is not actually responsible for his actions. As you noted earlier, he was to privileged, spoiled, and rich to know right from wrong. Therefore he cannot be held accountable. He never spent a single day in prison for his action. He got a sense of 10 years probation, had to do some rehab in a 50,000 a month facility with yoga, fire pits, pingpong. What this has done is as you have noted, increase the outrage over this story. How could somebody get away with this . The attorneys say it would not have done him any good to be in prison and would have ruined another life. The victims say the kid has to learn some kind of accountability, and what are other children to think if they can get off scott free after killing four people and injuring 10 others .
