This is a noreaster light storm that is better this area for the better part of a day and half. They are bracing for whatever joaquin will bring. Either way it could do some damage and cause some flooding. These are all problems theyve dealt with and they dont a deal with it again. John spoke with people this morning. The conditions here in ocean city maryland are quickly deteriorating. It is high tide right now. And almost on cue the rain has really picked up again. The only constant has really been the wind. The howling wind. So much wind. We are on 4th street on the boardwalk. This stand is not supposed to be here. Much of the beaches on top of the boardwalk. You can see the tunes of warned. These sandhills. The ocean is really turning. It is high tide right now. You could really see the breaking of the waves and it is getting closer and closer. We also have seen some flooding here. Highway, philadelphia, baltimore avenues. This is near the marina. Flooding has already occurred here in ocean city and the inlet is closed. No one able to get in. We have seen folks walking up, taking pictures because it is white at site to see. Where the ocean meets the bay. It is really churning. A lot of the folks have been buttoning up their homes and making sure the shutters are on and trying to prevent any damage. We spoke to a gentleman he says he grew up coming here and that his wife and they always came here. Now they live in montana. They came back. Its probably their last trip to ocean city. The weather has pretty much ruined it. We arrived this last weekend. In the weather was not in the plan but we are sticking it out. John they are sticking it out. We have seen some folks on the beach, some brave souls trying to get the full effect. Events that were scheduled for this week have been canceled. The schools here in the county also canceled today. We maintain our own trough of low pressure overhead and keep the heavy rain one but it should end the early tomorrow morning. Rain wise, we dont inspect heavy rain tomorrow or sunday or monday. I think the rain will eventually come to an end because the hurricane will stay so offshore. Because of the rain we have had and the inches will have tonight, a Flash Flood Watch remains in the area until noon on sunday. Over three inches of rain in the metro area.
