Helicopters are flying into and out of that Mountain Range all the time carrying specialist mountaineering teams. The crash happened on the backside of that mountain. Todays hearing follows the incident early last wednesday morning when video captured abc Officers Holding johnson to the ground. His face bloodied after he was denied entrance to a bar in charlottesville. He was later charged with public intoxication and swearing and obstruction of justice although tests showed johnson was not drunk and witnesses say he was not beligerent. You dont hold court in the streets. You hold court in courthouses through very well defined legal processes and thats what were taking part in now. To maryland now where the university of maryland student who sent a racially charged email wont return to campus. Jeanette reyes is in college park with how students are reacting and the steps that the school and fraternity are now taking. Jeanette its the talk of the university of maryland campus. A racially charged and sexually explicit email sent by a white Kappa Sigma Fraternity member. I was pretty horrified. Jeanette the email was sent to six people over a year ago but went viral after it was recently discovered. Last night the school said the student behind the email would not return to campus this semester. The Vice President of Student Affairs goes on to say, in part that the hateful email from january 2014 had shaken our campus. I know many of you feel hurt and angry. The universitys investigation into the incident is continuing and due process will be completed before any final determinations are made. They should have definitely looked more into the situation before dismissing the student. I think thats a good thing. Jeanette kappa sigma said the student was suspended from the fraternity after the organization found out about the email. Student submitted a letter for resignation. Calls to the fraternity went unreturned today but in a statement on its website it said in part the language and views expressed in the email were inexcusable and in stark contrast to the values of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and they are counter to everything that kappa sigma stands for. The University Says it will create a student Multicultural Group to advise the president on any diversity issues here on campus and meanwhile, the fraternity says it will implement a Diversity Training Program for its members year round. Thousands still without power. We got another one karen roofs ripped right off of houses. Cars overturned. This woman was inside her truck as it flipped. The name mayni translates to unique and the name muniri means warm or loving. Theres the area of low pressure. Theres the leading edge of warm air getting things working. Well get the push of warm air for a bit. When the front swings through tonight, look at the showers and the thunderstorms. Heres the futurecast centered at 5 00 this afternoon where a line of showers and thunderstorms may be lining up along the blue ridge. Moving through the area towards 7 00 or 8 00 tonight and then start to see a touch of clearing late night but then a few lingering showers return in the morning. This is 2 00 a. M. But watch what happens after that. The showers move out by 7 00 8 00 or 9 00 in the morning.
