Senator Barbara Mikulski said today she will not seek a fifth term in office. Mikulski is the longest serving woman in congressional history. As Maryland Bureau chief brad bell explains, she doesnt plan to go quietly. She is just 411 but her giant shadow has loomed over maryland politics since 1976. She became one of the most powerful senators. And so few thought Barbara Mikulski would ever say these words. That i will not be seeking a sixth term in the United States senate. Mikulski says there is no Health Problem but with two years left in her term at age 78 shes decided not to wage another campaign and instead focus on constituent work. I had to decide how i would spend my time. Fighting for my job or fighting for their job. Do i spend my time raising money or do i spend my time raising hell.
