would cost for the checks. dna has helped link a rapist to four additional rapes committed several years ago. >> montgomery county police have solved a major cold case that occurred more than 30 years ago with the help of dna. the grand jury returned 10 counts against a 53-year-old. the state attorney believes this man was a serial rapist that terrorized areas of macomb county 30 years ago. originally from rockville, he is already serving sentences for three rapes in that area that occurred between 1981 and 1982, but dna link him to four other rapes that occur from 1977 to 1980. when the separate rapes were reported, they were very similar in nature, and the victim's gave similar descriptions. 30 years later, detectives believe they have closed these cases. >> those types of cases, we never forget about them. we continuously run the evidence through the national database because there are new people added all of the time. we will continue to get hits in the future to solve these cold cases. >> there are even possibilities that there are other cases and the victims that could be linked to the suspect. the attorney said it is amazing that these cases were closed because dna have been hiding inside of an attic in the garage. authorities are talking to him now. a virginia woman who fled the united states after being indicted for a mortgage fraud scheme has been apprehended now they're moving west to east. the larger area of rain we have been dealing with has dumped up to an inch in some spots is moving out. the concentrated areas of rain are up around new england. and number of winter weather advisories. for us, we will be just dealing with this area of rain. there will be a chance that enough cold air will come south that west of hagerstown, the wincster line, maybe some snow mixed in there. look at these temperatures. 44 degrees in bowie. about a third of an inch in most of the metro area. we can show you the rain totals officially at reagan national. 50 degrees and 46 degrees the high and the low. colder to the north, slightly louder to the south. this has to do more with the temperatures of the chesapeake bay. you have to go far south to find the hot stuff. 91 degrees in houston. plenty of cold stuff to the north. as we go through the next several months, colder weather will become much more commonplace. this system does not show any signs of letting go. as that drifts away, another one is going to take its place. all this will act together to keep the flow of cold air over the viewing area. it is not going to rain everywhere for all the time, we are just going to have chances of rain and continuing cold temperatures through sunday before drier air returns. 44 degrees at midday tomorrow predict we will see a big change in the seven-day forecast. it will be next week. in the meantime, more of this stuff, with periods of rain and drizzle. some sunshine on monday, in the upper 50's. right now it looks good for tuesday,
