Its moving fast enough that theres a chance rain could come through if they get a little chance and go a little bit later but definitely rain is something to keep an eye on for game time. Lets get the maps and show you exactly why im saying that. Look outside at rooftop camera. Still had a eastnortheasterly wind and still chilly. Very damp wednesday evening and thursday. No wednesday. I get one day ahead of myself all the time. Heres the rain coming in. Were watching it moving across i81 into the shenandoah valley. As far as lightning detection, 17 strikes along this line. But thats much lighter activity we saw 45 50 minutes ago. Its diminishing from thunderstorms into heavier downpours. Whole thing is pressing to the east. Theres parts of this system that are really much more intense but i think that will pay us well south of the metro area. 44 degrees. 46 degrees, rather at dulles and gaithersburg. 47 at andrews. 46 degrees in annapolis. Well see showers and well see the downpours. Satellite and radar shows this first big batch coming across and weakening a bit. Theres another big batch big outbreak of Severe Weather possible tornadoes and severe thunderstorms over sections of missouri and illinois. That should fall apart a bit. The whole key is stable weather here in the east with rain. Well see the storms diminishing to rain showers. Tomorrow, a quiet day and all the action shifts to the day on friday. As i spoke about, this is the front that separate our cool damp air from the warm air and its stationary. It will start to lift northward tomorrow night and pop into the warm air during the day on friday. So showers and thunderstorms likely with the front in the afternoon. The key to one of the major keys that weather will not have Severe Weather here severe thunderstorms on friday will be how much and how long of a duration of sunshine well see around the area. Enough sun into the 80s. When the front comes through, thats the chance of showers and storms. Well clear out nicely for the upcoming weekend. Tonight, cloudy and damp and chilly. After the steadier showers end probably 9 00 or so for most areas, see a little leftover drizzle later tonight and tomorrow, replay it today. Drizzle. Chilly. Damp conditions. And then for the next seven days, that nice improvement. Look at that. On friday, near 80 degrees.
