The verdict this afternoon after tests revealed the suspect, kashif bashir, was looking for someone to rape on the day of the shooting. Stephen tschida is live with the reason for the decision. On trial bashir was for the attempted murder in 2013 of officer peter laboy. After days of testimony from forensic psychiatrists and psychologists, the judge ruled that testimony was so strong that he determined the shear was shearsh determined the was not guilty determined bas told aif bashir psychologist he knew he was going to do bad things, rob, rape girls and shoot cops. A few hours later, he did shoot officer peter laboy in the head, leaving him severely injured. A judge in the case has ruled guiltyshif bashir is not by reason of insanity. He was in the throes of extreme psychosis when he shot peter laboy.
