Sounds better than the next penny, i guess. Whats the deal for tomorrow . Well have some snow sleet and rain. And these storms coming from the west thashgsz a dividing line issue. Who is going to get the sleet and rain back and forth . Its not going to be a big storm. We get an inch or two or two or three. Thats a headache. Its a mess. If it happens during the day, morning time we know what happens. We get a disproportionate number of problems related. Thats going to be the deal again. In preparation of this possibility, the National Weather service has issued a Winter Weather advisory in the lovely shade of purple. If youre still watching black and white its a medium gray. Issued starting at 4 00 a. M. Tomorrow morning in the northern suburbs. Runs through the entire day until 6 00 p. M. You notice Southern Maryland peninsula areas south and west of stafford and spotsylvania, you miss this one. You wouldnt think about snow. Its 49 at Reagan National and the temperatures will drop a bit. Only to these levels. Computer models indicate well be around freedzing for most of the area tomorrow. 35 for a low in the city. And thats part of the issue, trying to come up with numbers. How much snow is going to stick because a fair amount is going to melt and of course theres going to be the issue of the rain snow dividing line. We have the upper level system of the clipper, southern Stream Energy in the jet. Thats going to come through the area tomorrow. A Little Package of rain is out of here right now. So according to the modeling i think were going to see some time between 6 00 a. M. And mid morning, the precipitation mostly in the form of snow north and west. Maybe rain south and east of town move in. As we get through the arch could get briefly heavier. Rain snow line will be the issue. Put it together and put our Heads Together thats what were going to come up with. Rapidly clear skies. Most areas will be south of this area, if we get any snow bands or snow bursts which happens sometimes with little clippers it could be a little bit more than that. Its not going to be six inches. Its not going to be two feet. Schools arent going to be closed for two weeks. I suspect there will be some well thought out delays for schools in some sections in the morning and may be thinking about giving yourself plenty of extra time about the impact and then clear it out and maybe have a chance rain by saturday. Its those little storms and little ones that cause the biggest headaches. Absolutely. Ok. Just like this. Littlest ones cause the biggest headaches. Im Horace Holmes and 7 on your side is back at this southwest d. C. Apartment with a story that we first brought you in december about a broken pipe and moldy walls in one unit . Well nothing much has changed since then. Back to the weather now because we have a few showers and sprinkles moving into the area right now. Yeah it would be nice if we could keep it light showers and sprinkles because tomorrow we could be seeing some snow across part of the region. Chief meteorologist doug hill is tracking that and our chances of storms coming through here in the storm watch 7 weather center. Doug . A little snow, a little sleet. A little rain mixed in. Lets get to it and show you what we have. First up is a Winter Weather advisory that goes into effect early tomorrow morning between 4 00 and 6 00 a. M. Across the region. You notice theres a large area south of the metro area large Geographic Area that has no advisories at all. Very little impact in those regions. However, in areas that get the snow and sleet in a mixing form starting in the morning, it could cause some issues as temperatures will be close to freezing and slowly climb. Also the fact that some areas will climb above freezing while the snow is falling will make it tougher to accumulate the snow. You see the snow forecast here, understand the thinking behind it. Futurecast gives indication on this version that the snow may not arrive until late morning. However, we also see versions that brings it in closer to 6 00 in the morning. Somewhere in between. And shows the separations south and east of the city being rain. North and west being snow. Look at how quickly it clears to the west by early evening and then in fine shape wednesday night, thursday and friday weatherwise. Heres what we think at the beginning. As this is kind of the bottom line. Up to an inch across the metro area in gray. Mostly rain south and southwest of that. And then the more accumulations if you call two inches more in the shaded blue areas to the north. If you get a snow band or snow burst, you can add a little on to it. Because its a clipper and fast mover, this wont produce seven or eight or nine inches of snow. Couple of inches of snow during the day with cold temperatures to cause a disproportionate number of problems. Thats what were concerned about. Talk more about this and the impacts and timing when we join you in a few minutes. Alison . Thank you. Two murders in as many weeks have a d. C. We know enough about clippers that sometimes they can surprise us. Sometimes they can grind out the snow band or snow burst which will give you a little more snow than what youre expecting. So let me tell you what we think. During the day tomorrow, well see rain mostly south of town. And then a mix or changing to snow metro area. Mostly snow to the north. We think about an inch towards the metro area. One to two to north and mainly rain south. The snow bands or snow bursts if they happen over your head then locally higher amounts are possible. This is what we see on the evidence of the model and our interpretation certainly not a major storm but certainly enough to cause some disruption, some delays and im sure some of those will be preemptory in the morning for schools and the likes. Stay tuned to us especially for that. You can see how quickly well clear out of here on thursday and friday. Get back in the 40s. Most of the snow that falls will melt. Rain or mix again on saturday as we approach 40. Look at these numbers, when you forecast any sort of disturbance or storm when you have highs in the upper 30s or 40 you know its not going to be a major storm. Couple of inches here and there at the wrong time can cause a mess. Thats what were expecting tomorrow. Impact and a mess from a little bit. Ok. Thank you very much. Thanks, doug.
