send up to 40,000 more troops to afghanistan, violence there and in neighboring pakistan is increasing. militants linked to al qaeda attacked pakistan's military headquarters. soldiers fought for 24 hours to regain control. 23 people, including three hostages were killed. secretary of state hillary clinton said the attack in pakistan showed extremists are a growing threat. she made those comments in london. clinton then went to dublin, where she pledged continued u.s. support for the northern ireland peace process. a fire stopped services at a buddhist temple, forcing 220 members to evacuate. it broke out at the buddhist temp in silver spring. no than one was hurt. the fire started in a closet where innocence and ashes are stored. they believe that likely started the fire. damages are estimated at $800,000. >> a 2-year-old boy is at children's hospital after falling out of a second story window. this happened at a town home on maple leaf drive in montgomery village. no word on the circumstances surrounding the fall. the boy was alert and conscious after it, but no word on his condition. a d.c. police officer suffered a concussion this evening after a run-in with a suspect. he called for back up at 7:00 tonight. he stopped a man on suspicion of drug possession, and a fight broke out between them. the suspect suffered a laceration to the head. both men were treated and released from the hospital. weekend metro track work is not over quite yet. locals and terrorists in town for the weekend can expect more work on the yellow and green lines tomorrow. the waterfront and archives navy memorial stations are closed. the green line is closed between gallery yard and chinatown. things ought to be back to normal by tuesday morning. we had a beautiful fall day but some continues to dominate our forecast. we do have a frost advisory off to the west. this includes garrett and allegheny counties in western maryland. also the potomac highlands and west virginia. this is parking lot shot. he later died at the hospital. police are looking for a suspect and a motive. a quick arrest in a forestville murder. police arrested 22-year-old matthew taylor in the shooting death
