Assisting five adults and one child after two homes were damaged by fire early Tuesday Morning, august was called out to the scene of a fire at a vacant home near 50th and clarke around 4 30 a. M. Officials say a neighboring home sustained significant damage. When crews arrived on scene, the second floor of the vacant home was engulfed in flames. Officials say that home is destroyed. Investigators say significant damaged was sustained to a neighboring home. Five adults and one child were removed from that home. No one was injured. Deputy chief when we arrived it was completely involved, all floors complete damage on that building, the exposure building we removed occupants from some damage wont be a total loss neighbor i hope its just an abandoned house, i dont want yone to displace their family. Sherelle smith says they both w not releasing the name of the officer saying threats have been made against him. Police say the officers body camera shows smith was fleeing with a gun in his hand and turned back toward the officer before the shooting.
