A judge has set a deadline for tomorrow for Brendan Dassey to be released from prison. But the state has filed an emergency appeal to keep him behind bars. Nicole joins us now with the latest. The emergency appeal was filed appeals in chicago arguing dassey should stay in prison until his case is resolved in court. Dasseys conviction for his role in the rape and murder or Teresa Halbach was tossed out in august. The state has appealed. State prosecutors argue the lower court did not have the authority to order dasseys release and by doing so would cause irreparable harm to the case. Dasseys attorney argues the state has not made a case to keep him locked up. His family hopes hell be out by friday. Its one step cl step back. The state is got their do their thing and they are fighting but we want him out this week. Dassey must be released no later than 8 pm tomorrow unless the 7th circuit of appeals rules otherwise. Authorities say a driver failed to stop at a stop sign in the town of rhine colliding with another vehicle. An 80 year old man and 79yearold woman were killed. Both were from elkhart lake. The driver of the car that was struck is expected to be okay. An 18yearold delafield man faces multiple felonies. For allegedly making and selling drugs. According to Court Documents authorities caught on to 18yearold informant. Police got a search warrant and found marijuana,. Lsd and cocaine inside his home. Shes accused of running a large scale operation, with multiple, lowerlevel distributors. Accused of impersonating Milwaukee Police officers and holding another man at gunpoint are due in court today. Saint anthony Police OfficerJeronimo Yanez is charged with seconddegree manslaughter and two felony a firearm. Yanez shot and killed castile after pulling him over for a broken tail light. Castiles fiancee who livestreamed the aftermath on Facebook Says castile had a license to carry a weapon and that he had been trying to tell officer yanez about the gun. Yanez is due to make his First Court Appearance tomorrow. A grand jury will hear evidence on whether the chicago Police Department covered up the shooting death of Laquan Mcdonald. Dashcam video of the 2014 incident shows officer jason as mcdonald walked away with a knife in his hand. The video contradicts officers claims the teen lunged at police. A special Prosecutor Says the grand jury could begin issuing subpoenas next month. One person is dead after a large explosion in canton, illinois last night.
