Milwaukee police are shot at by a suspect. It happened while they were responding to a call. The suspect a 23yearold man is now in custody. It happened in the area of 27th and ruby just before 1030 as officers were responding to a burglary. Thats when the suspect opened fire. Officers shot back but no one was struck. After a brief foot chase the suspect was taken into custody. An Apartment Fire in South Milwaukee forces three families out of their home. Fire crews were called to 13th and manistique for a much damage was done by the fire. But the red cross is assisting ten people. Not home for the holidays. According to a criminal complaint, 22yearold Brandon Calkins pushed the victim to the ground. The victims Mother Told Police she believed her daughter lost consciousness and was eventually run over by the train. The victims arm was amputated. Calkins was charged with three misdemeanors and only faces months behind bars. An egregious act of violence and potentially not be held accountable for it. Her Attorney Says when she alerted guards that she was in labor nothing was done she claims she was forced to have the baby inside her cell and within hours it died. Shes very depressed.
