You know, everything that glitters isnt gold. many Voucher School leaders dont even have backgrounds in education a Sticking Point for Choice School opponents like congressman pocan. we would never tolerate that in the Public School system. hickmans used to work as an insurance agent. He got caught pocketing premiums from elderly clients and was convicted of embezzlement in 2005. Now he leads this Voucher School. Its all because Dennis Benkert bankert was searching for treasure in the lake. He figured it was a good place to search because of an ongoing construction project. I took the advantage of going down there while the water was low and going around the docks. Benkert hunts for treasure as a hobby. Hes found military id tags, graduation rings and even teeth. Through facebook, benkerts friend was able to track down the owner of the wallet, 49yearold shawn eakins acheins. Benkert realized he h i did call my brother up to try to find out if he knew who he was and he said yeah i worked with shawn. He said whats his badge number . I said 320 my brothers was 310, so they did work together. Eakins believes he lost the wallet while paddle boating with his wife. Maybe an hour or so after we left the lake i realized i lost it and i figured it fell into the lake somewhere. His old credit cards, Social Security card and even an old Hollywood Video missed the most was his badge. I was upset because i was a fairly new correctional officer so it had my badge, my wallet, and thats the thing that meant the most to me in it. Our big story at five. A dramatic scene plays out at a kenosha bank as it opened this bomb. Fox6s Myra Sanchick is live in kenosha with that story. Kenosha police say at this time they arent sure if the device on the suspect was real, but it sure looked like it. One of the first customers of the day at the johnson bank in the glenwood crossings mall, was not in for a usual withdrawal. Kenosha police say the man walked in, and gave a teller a note, demanding one he had a bomb strapped to his body. Employees called police and were able to get out. But the suspect stayed inside. Police closed off the mall, those inside stores had to stay. Those not yet there could not go to work, like the manager of another nearby bank. Its unpredictable. But anytime youre dealing with money there are a lot of unknowns so. Stuff like this happens for several hours police negotiated with the suspect inside. Finally shortly before noon you can see the suspect surrenders. Police order make sure he was not armed with a bomb. We had a negotiator on scene today that had initial contact with him through the robot the hazardous device sent in. Overall id describe our suspect today as cooperative. He followed the instructions we gave him. That helped defuse the situation rather quickly the suspect was arrested but the danger wasnt over. The device was still inside and the Kenosha County hazardous device unit used a robot to bring it out. They detonated it. Not once, not twice but three times to make sure it wasnt live. There was a device that appeared to be explosives. As far as having wires and everything like that whtt know at this point when the danger their cars and the mall was reopened. Police say they have the suspect in custody and are right now investigating to determine how and why what should have been a quiet day at the bank, was anything but.
