65yearold Randall Drescher of milwaukee faces one count of first degree reckless homicide, in connection with the august 18th shooting death of reed carlsen, right in front of the district 6 police station,. Prosecutors say a friend of drescher arranged to purchase a gun from an unidentified person, and they agreed to meet, at the station. Around 640, as the two sat in this van, watching passersby, the 42yearold carlsen w questioned drescher about staring at him. When drescher told carlsen to leave, he refused. Dreschers friend says carlsen appeared to be on drugs, and, when drescher told carlsen to leave, again, carlsen, threw an orange construction cone into the open passenger window. Prosecutors say that when carlsen began to walk away, drescher got out, to put the cone back in place. But then, drescher says carlsen approached him, and drescher pulled his gun. When Carlsen Drescher says he feared for his life, so he shot carlsen, three times. Then, drescher entered the police station, and turned himself in, to police. Uh. Im. I. I dont have any words. Chicago police are questioning a person of interest in connection with a threealarm fire that killed four people. A three month old baby, two young girls, and a man, all died as a result of a massive fire at a three story Apartment Building on the citys south side. A woman inside the building heard someone banging on the back door of her apartment, when she went to the door, she found it on fire. Flames quickly shot up the side of the building, causing some people on the father of the 3month old baby is in Critical Condition at christ hospital. Two firefighters also suffered minor injuries. It took over 200 firefighters to get the fire put out. Police are saying arson could be to blame. Investigating a shooting that injured one man. According to police, the shooting happened around 9 15 this morning near 27th and burleigh. A 46yearold man was injured, and police dont know what led up to the shooting. Researchers estimated air pollution from previous and projected wildfires in over 5hundred counties in the western us. They found that by midcentury, more than 80 Million People will air pollution caused by wildfires. The researchers say the findings point to the need for changes in highrisk areas. And its not just fires that are a problem. In the aftermath of historic flooding in louisiana. Health officials warn, the danger isnt over just because the water is starting to recede.
