Augustine saw the worst of it with entire sections of the downtown areas flooded by the storm surge waters. Lenscrafters started investigating their employee 43year old elaine king after noticing more than 300 pairs of glasses frames were missing. Prosecutors say she admitted to stealing 15 to 20 frames a month over 3 years and selling them on ebay. Officials say she got about 22thousand dollars for the nearly 60thousand dollars worth of merchandise stolen. New at 9 00 Milwaukee Police are investigating an incident at a gas station near 49th and lisbon. One in the morning. Officials say two suspects were arguing with employees and stole food from the store. Employees kicked them out and locked the stores doors. The suspects then left in a vehicle. Witnesses say a couple minutes later a suspect came back to the gas station parking lot and started firing shots at the windows. He shot the door first and hes going in like a row. Some people are not moving when theyre still blinking red while others are taking off and it is creating some confusion with the traveling public bluemound road is a busy detour. For drivers getting around the i41 south to 94 east closure. But with the influx of new drivers. The dot is reminding drivers how a hybrid pedestrian beacon crosswalk should work. The dot says blinking red lights as a stoplight. This is what the dot is noticing people stopping directly underneath these lights, but that prevents them from seeing the sequence of colors. So if youre heading through the zoo interchange, be aware of the closures. A Chicago Police officer is recovering after she was severely beaten by a man who was high on drugs. Chicago police veteran. She had an encounter with a man who was allegedly high on pcp and crashed his car into a liquor store. Police say the man smashed the officers face into the sidewalk until she became unconscious. Today police say the officer said she did not use her gun for fear of the backlash she might face. Eddie johnson, Chicago Police superintendent she thought she was going to die. He shot twice. He shot the victim in the eventually found guilty of Second Degree recklessly endangering safety. He was just shy of his 18th birthday. It started at a real young age. And hasnt stopped. Its continuing because now hes almost 30 i believe. Whitmore has been in and out of prison his entire adult life. Gambling, auto theft, burglary. Disorderly conduct. Domestic abuse. Marshals say at this point the man chose to walk away or would he chose to grab a firearm to protect himself or to arm himself and intimidate someone. I think he would chose to pick up the firearm. This summer a new warrant was issued for whitmores arrest.
