The attorney general says the family of murder victim Teresa Halbach supports his decision to file an appeal. The appeal is of an august 12th ruling by the u. S. District court granting a motion by dassey, saying that his confession to the halbach murder with his uncle steven avery was coerced. Dassey was only 16 years old at the time. However, ag schimel says two state courts looked at the evidence and they concluded that dasseys confession were admissible in court. The center of wrongful convictions of youth has a response on behalf of dassey. Saying in part we are disappointed in the states decision to prolong brendans case by seeking an appeal. Steven avery is working on his own appeal case but today his attorney Kathleen Zellner tweeted out this saying schimels appeal is prolonging the injustice.
