Its the humidity well thats part of the story here. The rumbling of planes taking off from the airport is overhead, but the air conditioning system at Cudahy High School is not buzzing. I was sweating a lot in gym class on the third day of class this semester, the Cudahy High School air conditioning system was failing very hot. K the reason class was dismissed early. It was humid so the floor was wet, so they had to cancel school. They didnt want anyone falling condensation made the school slippery. Everybody was Walking Around tripping, like slipping, falling the Cudahy School district says since all students safety is our priority we are going to be releasing all students at 1 05 pm today. Students with no place to go were invited to stay in a safe area in the school until regular dismissal time no word yet on whether there will be class tomorrow. But the School District plans to keep parents informed. Investigators say morgan used gasoline to intentionally set a fire near 36th and Silver Spring last october. 10yearold kevin little, and two yearold Taenajah Morgan were both killed. Opening arguments are prosecutors are planning to retry Dennis Brantner in the 1990 murder of berit beck. Fond du lac countys District Attorney making the announcement this morning. Earlier this year jurors failed to reach a verdict in the case. A new trial date has not been set because brantner was not in court today. The 62yearold was sentenced to 6 years in prison earlier this summer on drug charges. A man accused of looting during the unrest in sherman park appearing in 17yearold Darius Saxton was at the Oreilly Auto Parts store, metro pcs and jet beauty. As for what exactly that funding should look like, a draft released by the Common Council calls more beat cops and traffic enforcement. Alderman bob donovan chairs the Public Safety committee. Hes the driving force behind the safety plan. But referred all questions tuesday to Council President ashanti hamilton. Hamilton did not immidiately respond to our request for comment. Other groups in the city, like urban undergrond, say new funding should go elsewhere. Theres a variety of programs and organizations that are doing fantastic work; we just have to figure out how do we support them more so they can increase their reach. Barrett says his plan will cover both mpd and community groups. The police are obviously a very important pa trying to do for Public Safety but we look at other factors when it comes to Public Safety as well. Police were called to the scene near 113th and north around 10 this driver a 63 yearold wauwatosa man had a medical emergency and veered off the road. First responders tried to revive him but had no success. It appears he died from that medical situation rather than the crash itself. Racine police are investigating a shooting near 12th and villa. Police say one man was shot multiple times just before two this morning. The man was taken to froedtert with life threatening injuries. Fox written or test is taken, the freshest faces at Carroll University are already hard at work. its a great kind of bonding experience for everybody. the annual freshman day of service is in its eighth year, a chance for first year students to get out and give back to the area theyll call home for the next four years. its kind of like an icebreaker to do something as a group as well, but also help the community. about 700 carroll freshmen split up nonprofits and businesses in waukesha and milwaukee. We found one group at the Waukesha Community arts project, helping staff prepare for its new year. theyre helping us tackle big projects that really wouldnt be able to be done without a group this large. at saratoga heights, an independent living facility for lowincome seniors, another crew tackled part of a dining room remodel project. when we get volunteers that can come in here and help us it helps our budget, it helps our staffing. We get a lot of work done that would normally take us a very, very spending the day giving back to the community, the students also gain something in return. i feel like doing projects like this really helps build friendships and get to know the class really well. it definitely calms down the nerves because at least you know a bunch of people already moving into class. carl deffenbaugh, fox6 news. Melanie sobelman says she and her husband, dave, are in the company of the latter, after missing a mandatory Common CouncilLicensing Committee meeting, in july. My wife, says, hey, we just got a letter from city hall, do we really need to go for that . I said, i dont think so, the officer said we dont have to, that this because of what happened at the marquette location. What happened involves the june 22nd discharge of a firearm, in the restaurants vestibule. Dave sobelman says hes never been required to appear for any previous meetings, but, he now, understands, the shooting makes an appearance mandatory. We screwed up, there. Tuesday, the screwup means the restaurant must shut down, since the restaurants food and liquor licenses expired, august 31st. While the license is unanimously approved during tuesdays Licensing Committee meeting, the measure meeting is september 20th. I mean, i dont even get the opportunity to pay a fine . I dont get the opportunity to apply for something else, like a temporary something . Instead, the sobelmans say they could be forced to tell nearly 40 employees they will have to do without. Unless.
