The city of milwaukee is gearing up for tonights snow. On standby, 100 pieces of clear the roads. Crews started prepping on wednesday adding an antiice solution. They are using a different type of salt, with an oatmealtype consistency. Drivers are reminded to remain a safe distance behind plows and soft trucks. They are ready for the snow. If we get the higher limits of the snow predicted we will have a snow emergency in all that is declared by the commissioner of public works. In the snow emergency there are posted snow routes. Look for the signs when you park. On snow emergency routes there are main streets and bus routes. We need to keep them clear. Andy winter parking rules are also in effect in the city of milwaukee. The dpw will let us know if and when the fourinch rule starts. So Pay Attention to the streets. Street, you could be ticketed or towed. One community is declaring a snow emergency starting sunday night. In watertown. New this morning Milwaukee Police are investigating a deadly car accident late last night at the intersection of 12th and hadley. Police are saying a cheva suburban crashed into a dodge stratus. A 66yearold man inside scene. The driver of the suburban stayed onthescene and cooperating with investigators. In Walworth County one man died after falling through in the ice on lake cuomo. Crews searched for hours in the cold and found the body of the victim. Police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time. Right now, Milwaukee Police need your help finding a missing woman. Condition has critical. Sabrina alan was seen on december 6th. She suffers from health issues. If you have steen her, please give police a call. Wisconsins president ial recount is just about done, 64 of the states 72 counties concluding the recount process. Milwaukee and waukesha counties wrapping up. Workers in the counties spent nine days of the job. The results will be spent to the wisconsins Election Commission and be posted oli the state will certify the Election Results on tuesday. And partial sunshine around and then clouds really start to fill in throughout the afternoon and then snow will likely start after 7 00 p. M. Between 7 00 and 9 00, light snow in milwaukee, patchy at first and then steady snow if not a moderate snowfall will move across the area saturday night into sunday morning. And then a period of snow continues as we go through sunday afternoon. Again this will just keep piling up our snow totals. By sunday evening, the snow will transition off to the east. And traveling home from the packer game, some roads will be we are expecting on the route three to five inches of snow in green bay and down here across much of southeastern wisconsin. Total snowfall, five to eight inches, that includes this evening right through sunday evening. We have a winter storm watch that goes into affect at 6 00 p. M. Today and continue until 12 00 p. M. On monday, the impacts, our snow five to eight inches. Not a lot of wind, the wind will pickup by sunday afternoon near the lakefront. Slippery conditions number one thing. Through sunday and a winter storm watch for southeastern wisconsin will start this evening and go through 12 00 a. M. On monday. Most of the snow should be wrapping up sunday evening. Where is the snow at . It is off to the west. Moving into western iowa, moving off to the eastsoutheast and move in our direction for today. If you have travel plans anticipate dry roads. Cold conditions. 18 degrees in milwaukee. 13 in madison. Single digits in no woods. And the forecast today, traveling across the area, dry through the afternoon. Past 6 00 or 7 00. Adrienne pedersen spoke with people at the public works adrienne garden trucks are now dressed up as snowplows ready for a weekend of work. I say bring it on. Adrienne director of operations at the city of Milwaukee Department public of working promises us they are ready for the snow. Our main goal in mind is that we have safe and passible streets. Adrienne crews started preps on wednesday, adding an antiicing solution to more roads than last year. The salt itself is different, an more of an oatmeal consistency. If you have driven behind a salt truck in the past. The salt hit the street and bounce. And sometimes the onces under the park cars and not where we want it, or the wind takes it. It happened on lake como yesterday afternoon. 20 rescue agencies were called in to search for the 40yearold man. But it was impossible. Had, no ice is safe. Ice is incredible unstable. But it is extremely dangerous when it is forming and when it is thawing. Andy officials are saying it is unclear why the man was out there in the first place. His name is not released. A group of moms is asking Milwaukee County sheriff david clarke to step down. This comes after four deaths at the jail that his department ru yesterday the group progressive moms of milwaukee held a demonstration with dape canners to make their point. Now, sheriff the jail that his clarke respond on facebook saying the media and progressive moms seem more interested in generating fake news because if involves david clarke. Right now, an audit is underway looking into the medical care at the county jail and the house of corrections. Wisconsins president ial vote recount is nearly down. Is sending more troops to syria to battle the islamic state. Ash carter is saying 200 more american troops will be sent to help kurdish and arab fighters will help to capture the stronghold. There are 300 troops authorized for the effort to organize and train local syrian for u. S. Secretary of state john kerry is in paris today working to find solution for syrias operation. Kerry will meet with members to discuss the safety of civilians and keep the city from been destroy. Last months deadly plane crash in colombia is called murder. Because the pilot violated protocol. Takeoff on a fourhour flight with barely enough fuel. International flight regulation require the aircraft to fly for 30 minutes after reaching their destination. Roads become slippery the temperatures in the low 20s when this begins. This is the trip north to green bay, midday into the afternoon, a snowy go on i43 and heading up 151 or highway 26. Snow in all directions. It stays snowy in southeast wisconsin until the early evening hours and it wraps up quick from west to east. The general band of five to eight inches across the area. Eight inches of snow, waukesha, milwaukee, and racine, kenosha, and lake geneva. The farther north you travel, the better chance of four to five inches of snow. That is enough to shovel and plow out of the way. The Polar Express will come in, in the wake of the system. By tuesday, wednesday and thursday, the coldest air of the season. Some areas will not get out of the Single Digits for daytime highs. And nighttime lights in the sevenday forecast, here in milwaukee, assuming five to eight in o weekend. A warning from authorities this morning after a man falls through ice and dies on lake como in Walworth County yesterday afternoon. 20 different agencies were called in to search for the 40yearold man. But the cold made the rescue impossible. Authorities are saying because of the warm weather we had, nosies is safe ice. Ice is incredibly unstable, but is extremely dangerous when it is forming and andy officials are saying is unclear why the man was out in the first place. His name is not released. A group of moms is asking Milwaukee County sheriff david clarke to step down. After four deaths that jail that his department runs including the death of a baby. Yesterday the group progressive moms of milwaukee held a demonstration with diapers to make their point. Sheriff clarke responded to the right now, an audit is underway looking into the medical care at both the county jail and the house of corrections. This is one that just came in. This fits the five to eight inch band fairly well and less to the north and also to the west.
