Tim iraqi and Kurdish Forces are working together to advance on mosul in northern iraq. The of isis for more than a year. The u. S. Military is providing air support to the Iraqi Military. Retaking mosul is a massive operation. It could take weeks or months. This is the biggest challenge taken on by the Iraqi Military since American Forces left several years ago. After one day of fighting, Kurdish Forces have pushed the front line back about five miles. Today they hope to get even ben right now, the pentagon says there are americans in harms way as part of the mosul operation. Officials say theyre doing everything they can to keep them safe.
