We are going to tim elliott with tim . Right now the Associated Press is reporting that things are quieting down on the streets of charlotte. Overnight 12 Police Officers are recovering from the injuries. This started yesterday when an officer shot and killed a man that got out of a car with a gun, that man is keith scott was mistaken for a wanted criminal and the family is out raged over his death within hours, the protests erupted in the streets of charlotte and hundreds of people clashing with the police in riot gear and they were targeting the police vehicles. One of the officers was hit in the face with rocks. The crowds are blocking the interstate in this video and looting items and setting the items on fire. I will continue to monitor this we have no word of any arrests. A time of reporters is covering unrest in charlotte on abc news. Here in southeast wisconsin several officer involved shooting in wisconsin. The d. A. Is still considering charges against the officer that shot and killed smith last month. The state department of justice released their findings on the investigation and report over to the d. A. No word on when the decision will be announced. That death lead to two nights of violence. Flight to life is called in to a motorcycle crash in kenosha. This is video from the scene of that accident. It appears that the crash involved a motorcycle and one other car. Tim, what do we know about how this starts after police shot and killed an africanamerican man at an apartment complex. This morning we know they were searching for a different man at the time. Wisn 12 news Nikole Killion has the latest from washington. Tim and ben, at least a dozen officers were injured according to police in charlotte. Overnight protestors blocked highways, broke in to a walkmart, looted a truck and smashed police vehicles. Law enforcement responded with tear gas to disperse the group. The protests broke out after police shot and killed 43yearold keith lamont scott, at an apartment complex yesterday. Police say they were looking for a suspect with an outstanding warrant when they spotted scott getting out of his car with a gun and opened fire. This subject was out with a weapon. They engaged him and one of the officers felt a lethal threat and fired his weapon because of that. But scott was not the suspect in question. The fight began when the student showed up late to english class. Also new this morning, a Dangerous Police chase ended with a crash. Dashcam shows the moment when a suspect rammed into a squad car. A utah state trooper was chasing the driver started reversing and slammed into the squad car. Police say the suspect took off again and the trooper kept up the chase only to get rammed again. At least a dozen Police Officers were hurt when protesters threw Water Bottles and rocks. Local hospitals say they have treated eleven people for minor injuries. The video shows a tulsa officer now, the mans twin sister is demanding that the officer face charges. Protesters gathered yesterday to demand justice. Another officer was hit in his bulletproof vest. He was released from the hospital on monday. They were both hurt when police confronted ahmad khan rahami, whos now charged with a new york bombing that hurt 29 people. New this morning, a homeless man is being called a hero for discovering a bag full of pipe bombs. Investigators say the same man who made those bombs set off the blast in new york. Late sunday night and thought it would be helpful when he eventually found a job. He and ivan white noticed something suspicious though in the bag. They saw what looked like pipe bombs. They put the bag back and told police. A bomb squad robot eventually triggered the device to explode. I watched the robot that could have been me. I could have been the robot and i seen what the bomb did to the robots. Up to find that but he did. Parker and white say they arent heroes, they were just in the right place at the right time. Not only that, they took the right steps. Im not sure everyone would have done that. Or recognize what they were looking at. Good for him. He just wants to be a normal, teenage boy,hes 17 now, but he also realizes he is a voice for some and he has been a mentor to others helping them through the transition.
