Federal officials with the national highway traffic and Safety Administration say the airbag inflator deployed and propelled a piece of metal that hit and killed him. While previous recalls have involved older model vehicles. This new one includes at least one 20 14 model. Knights death is one of 11 now linked to faulty airbags from takata. Joel knight was killed in december after his ford ranger collided with a cow. Federal officials with the national highway traffic and Safety Administration say the airbag inflator deployed and propelled a piece of metal that hit and killed him. While previous recalls have involved older model vehicles. This new one includes at least one 20 14 model. Knights death is one of 11 now linked to faulty airbags from takata.
