The tower card is a picture of of the old of a tower that's being attacked from the outside it's like in a war zone and it's being attacked from the outside and there's bombs flying and bullets flying and it's also crumbling from the inside it and so it's a symbol of our ivory tower or our ego structure is at this point it's in terrible shape and it's falling apart both internally and externally I think that is kind of where we're at with the whole political thing that's crazy is happening now. When the card is reversed the music comes in upside down it points typically to the shadow side or the negative side condition of that particular symbol now we're already dealing with one of the most difficult cards in the deck is that it signifies radical change but when it's reversed it's said that we are stuck in the dungeon of the tower and we can't get out you know the message of the tower when it's right side up is get the heck out of there evacuate now great media change but when one is reversed we're like stuck in the dungeon and we can't get out. Now there is one internal symbol within that card that is the most positive piece of that of the tower card and that is the lightning bolts the lightning bolts to towers also being struck by lightning. All the lightning struck tower the lightning is as a symbol we could say for laser light intentional mind highly focused intentional mind that when it's right side up we need to project our intention to safe ground immediately we need to get out now. Now when it's reversed and I think we're in such a polarized and such a stuck destructive place right now quite frankly Sure. That we're stuck in the dungeon the whole thing is just collapsing and being attacked and we can't get out there's only one way to get out of that dungeon so that we can use the lightning bolt to get out of the tower entirely and that is we need the key we need the key to open up the steel bars to get out of that dungeon so which Instead up and utilize that laser light intention of the lightning the primal energy the primal consciousness of lightning and make radical change so finding the key metaphorically speaking is really is really what I think we need to do now most people think of taro as a tool for fortune tellers you don't believe that. Well I do and I don't it people don't understand what fortune really means it's not predicting the future actually I don't really predict the future unless the cards just come out and want to bite me if I don't make a statement about what I'm seeing but Fortune really is about the bumps in the road that's what fortune is. And so when you say fortune telling yes. It does show. The kind of real life kind of bumps or kind of. Points of resistance. That are going on in the present. The future is just an idea and I think we get very lost when we think about what you know what will the future look like or we're where's it all going it's all happening now the future is a part of the now and a tarot spread will give you a very rich and complex you could say Mom doll or. Storybook picture. All the forces that are operating in this present moment the double card we talked about the death card what is the down to the double is not the Christian Devil it precedes you know the place where originated is more closely corresponding to pay and it is kind of. It's about sensuality and mischief and pleasure but that's not in modern Tarot and the way I interpret the. Devil card I see it as the shadow in terms of union psychology it's the. It's the dark side of our own personalities that we tend to project outwards on to other people and we all have this and it's usually when we were it's associated with delusion addiction. Duality. Anger or confliction things like this and it really is in the whole matrix of the tower it's the card that is. Right highly connected and right below on the on the table on the grid the Lovers card is a waste the flipside of the lovers. 6 in the 15 Those are the numerology so they cards really look very similar you have a male and a female in the lovers you have a They're tied by an angel and Jellicoe symbol and in the devil they're tied by a devil. Figure So it really speaks to the shadow side that's happening in relationships today. Witnessed by our near 60 percent divorce rate and all of the problems that are commonly associated with failing marriages and relationships. And so it's a very rich and useful card in the psychotherapeutic context because we we look at the all the shadow issues that are going on in a person's private life and you know as Corleone said cycle therapy is essentially shadow work I mean that's what we were we go to talk about this stuff in to learn from it let me ask you this Are we had this tragedy in Las Vegas a few weeks ago horrible story horrible and. But if I get a better understanding of taro if what let's say prior to that tragic event. 20 of the people who ended up getting shot and killed had had been coming to see us a patient just randomly no connection with each other but they eventually were all going to get shot and killed in that tragedy what do you think.
