Some fear that rice paddies were contaminated last year. The operator says it will monitor the possible spread of radioactive materials and disclose the data on its website. The japanese government is planning to send a team of delegates to north korea. Theyll review the progress in the investigation into the fate of missing japanese citizens including those abducted by north korean agents. But the officials will not conduct their own probe. The delegation will include the head of the Foreign Ministrys asian and Oceania Affairs bureau. Their expected to reiterate the governments position that resolving the abduction issue is the top priority. Delegations were sent to north korea in 2002 and 2004. They visited locations and facilities believed to be associated with the abductees. French health Officials Say theyre ready to take on ebola in west africa. They plan full scale clinical testing to try to combat ebola in west africa. A drug has been developed by a japanese company. Translator well conduct a Clinical Study with the medicine favipiravir. Well know the result by the end of this year. A team from the French National institute of health and medical research will conduct the testing. The medicine was developed as an antiinfluenza drug by a subsidiary of japans fujifilm corporation. Favipiravir has yet to be approved as a treatment for ebola, but it was administered as an emergency measure on patients in france and spain. Researchers say they chose the drug because its already available in large amounts. They also said the drug is easy to administrator because its taken orally. The team will test the drug on about 50 patients in southern guinea. If the results are positive, the medicine will be given to more patients to confirm its effectiveness and safety. And officials at the World Health Organization are also planning to start clinical tests of ebola drugs in west africa, but their choice of medicines is still limited. Effective drugs for ebola are still unavailable seven months after the w. H. O. Reported the outbreak of the disease. The experimental drug zmapp is developed by a u. S. Firm, is said to have worked on some patients, but stocks reportedly ran out and its not known if the company will produce the drug again. The w. H. O. Gusts up to 113 kilometers an hour reported in one location. And the storm caused severe travel disturbances. A frightening plane landing here. You can see the plane wonling in the air and coming downsideways due to these cross winds. Im sure the pilots had a rough time and the people on board that flight a very scary situation. That plane did land safely out there but there were numerous cases of that exact scenario taking place because of the storm. Now is it shifting to the east. Parts of germany and northern portions of the balkans are going to be seeing a threat of severe thunderstorms out here. Even in the higher elevations, snowfall coming out of this. 30 to 40 centimeters. Moscow with a high of minus 2, warsaw at 10. Moscow, actually will continue to cool off. Its given this name because of the strong northeasterly winds that come onshore. It could bring coastal flooding in new england and in the canadian maritimes and nova scotia. But, the good news is that the rain that is coming down is needed. We have a moderate drought in some areas out here. So upwards of 100 to 120 millimeters of precipitation very well could occur.
