The district tells us, if we were to have any doubt about the safety and wellbeing of our students, we would contact law enforcement, put the situation in their capable hands and follow their lead. Des Moines Police concur. Saying theyre ready for a variety of threats. Weve got a fully staffed and equipped bomb squad thats set up and in place 24 hours a day to respond to these types of incidents, whether its a threat or a device thats located. The bomb squad is constantly studying the kinds of bombs used in attacks. But the squads services arent used in every situation. Only when threats are validated by police.
