A person who had been stabbed 14th. Just minutes later, Police Tracked down a vehicle they believe was at southeast 13 and thorton near the dunkin whether an arrest was made or what charges theyll face. The victim was sent to an area condition this morning. A series of delays is over this morning for a boone murder trial. After being postponed five times, jury selection finally begins today in the case of alexander fazzino. Fazinno is facing a first degree murder charge. Hes accused of killing his wife, emily in the couples home in january 2012. Authorities found emilys body in the bathroom. Fazzinos trail has been delayed five times. Most recently so he could care for his daughter as she recovered from a bone marrow transplant. His trial has been moved to winneshiek county. Jury selection is expected to begin as early as this morning. Police say an uber driver is responsible for a deadly shooting rampage in michigan over the police say jason dalton was involved in three separate attacks on saturday night. Hes suspected of shooting a woman in a parking lot at an apartment complex. Then later shooting two men at a car dealership. Police also believe he shot five people at a Cracker Barrel parking lot. They say dalton had ties to the community and did not have a criminal record. Investigators think dalton continued to pick up riders between the shootings. We dont know anything about a motive right now. Right now our common denominator is him. Six people were killed in the attacks. Two are in Critical Condition this morning. Des Moines Police are looking into a woman accused of setting a man on fire. 47yearold amy thornton of des moines is now facing charges of attempted murder and willful injury. The Des Moines Register reports it happened saturday at a home in the 1900 block of east walnut street. Police found a man with burns. Him on fire. The two were apparently engaged. She is now in custody at the polk county jail. Were tracking the potential for ice jam flooding this morning. Several jams were reported overnight along the Des Moines River basin including near fort dodge and fraser. River rises of 3 to 4 feet have occurred behind these jams and they can lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. The jams are expected to move south down the Des Moines River. Luckily, cooling temperatures and slowing snow melt should slow further runoff. Stopping major problems. Thousands of active and retired Union Workers are facing unexpected futures this morning. Last night the local teamsters chapter came together in des moines. To discuss looming pension cuts. The Central States pension fund is expected to go bankrupt within the next 10 years leaving Union Workers at risk of having their pension cut by up to 70 percent the cuts which go into effect july first will impact more than 6 thousand iowans.
